INFORMATION ABOUT KOFFI OLOMIDE
Excerpt #1
From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koffi_Olomide
"Antoine Christophe Agbepa Mumba (13 July 1956),[1] known professionally as Koffi Olomidé, is a Congolese Soukus singer, dancer, producer, and composer. He has had several gold records in his career. He is the founder of the Quartier Latin International orchestra with many notable artists, including Fally Ipupa and Ferré Gola.

Background

Olomide was born on 13 July 1956 in Kisangani, DRC. His mother named him Koffi because he was born on Friday. He grew up in a middle-class family, without any musical background. During his youth, Olomide improvised by singing popular songs with his own lyrics and altered rhythms until a neighbor taught him how to play the guitar.[2][3]

[...]

Koffi ..mostly refers to himself as "Mopao"...

Allegations

In 2012, Koffi Olomide allegedly assaulted one of his producer for abuse and no respect of contract and received a suspended three month sentence.[5]

In July 2016, while on a concert trip to Kenya,[6] Olomide was filmed making a kicking move towards one of his dancers. The action was widely condemned and caused the suspension of the concert as the video went viral. On his return to his home country, he was arrested five days later in Kenya Airport, allegedly for the same unpunished action. He was subsequently jailed for 4 days without judgement and released with no explanation. However, it was later revealed that the former Congolese president's wife, Mrs Olive Lembe Kabila, was behind the arrest because of her association for women's protection against violence and rape.[7]

In, 2018 he was ordered for arrest of a photographer in Zambia,[8] he left the country before arrest.

In 2019, He was found guilty by a French court of statutory rape of one of his former dancers when she was 15 years old.[8] He was handed a two-year suspended jail sentence in absentia, as he did not attend court in France.

Legacy

Koffi Olomide is among the greatest Congolese and African musical artists of all time."...

Excerpt #2
From https://www.last.fm/music/Koffi+Olomide/+wiki

"Antoine Koffi Olomide (born August 13, 1956), is a Congolese soukous singer, producer, and composer.

Born in Kisangani, Democratic Republic of Congo to a Congolese mother and Ghanaian father, Koffi grew up in Kinshasa.

He went to France to study, while in Paris, he began playing the guitar and writing songs. On his return to Congo he was a member of Viva la Musica, Papa Wemba's band. Koffi repopularized the slower style of soukous, which had fallen out of fashion. He dubbed this style Tcha Tcho, and it gained popularity outside Congo. Koffi's music can be quite controversial, taking on current events and topics considered taboo in some conservative societies. He has also participated in the salsa music project Africando.”…

Excerpt #3
https://kenyapage.net/koffi/bio.php
"Koffi Olomide was born Antoine Christophe Agepa Mumba in Kisangani ,Democratic Republic of Congo on July 13 1958. His father Charles Agbepa is Congolese (from the Gbandi tribe) while his mother Amy is of Sierra Leonean and Congolese descent (Songye tribe from Kasai region).  His mother named him Koffi which means Friday as is the tradition in parts of West Africa where children are named based on the day of the week they are born.

At the time of his birth, Koffi's mother was in poor health, a condition that was triggered by depression caused by loneliness and isolation. Koffi's father had abandoned her and was considering leaving his wife and children altogether. She was so depressed that she could not breastfeed newly born Koffi. To make matters worse, Koffi was in poor health and most people thought he would not survive beyond infancy. He was nicknamed Antoine Makila Mabe (Antoine bad blood).

Even in childhood, he showed signs of being passionate about music. At age 7 he would go around singing a song "Soso ameli Ngando" which means The Chicken has swallowed a Crocodile. He would sing it so often that it became his nickname. Nobody knows the origin of that song, not even Koffi. By his teens he would simulate songs by famous musicians but add his own spin on them. He was especially enamored with the music of Tabu Ley.

He soon became adept at writing his own songs. One neighbour was so impressed by Koffi's songwriting skills that he offered to teach him how to play the guitar. Koffi would soon be borrowing the guitar often to practice on his own.

Meanwhile Koffi also excelled in the classroom. He was born into a family where education took precedence above everything else. He has earned a bachelors degree in Business and Economics from Bordeaux University and a masters in Mathematics from the University of Paris.

His father was not keen on Koffi's musical career. It was his elder brother Johnny Ko who encouraged Koffi to pursue a career in music and even convinced their father to let Koffi pursue his musical dreams.   He commenced his musical career as a songwriter. In the late 1970s sung with Papa Wemba's band Viva La Musica. Here He learned his vocal and stage techniques. He launched his solo career in the mid 80s and has turned out to be one of the biggest success stories in African music."

Excerpt #4
From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kofi
"Kofi is an Akan masculine given name among the Akan people (such as the Ashanti and Fante) in Ghana that is given to a boy born on Friday. Traditionally in Ghana, a child would receive their Akan day name during their Outdooring, eight days after birth.[1][2]

According to Akan tradition, people born on particular days exhibit certain characteristics or attributes.[1][2] Kofi has the appellation "Kyini", "Otuo" and "Ntiful" meaning "wanderer" and "traveller."[1][2]"...

From https://www.name-doctor.com/name-olumide-meaning-of-olumide-10474.html Meaning Of Olumide
"AFRICAN (YORÙBÁ)

NAME ROOT: OLUMIDE

MEANING: This name derives from the African (Yorùbá) “Olumide”, meaning “God has come”. Main body of the name is composed of “Olú-Ọ̀rún” (God, master, lord, our God). Olú or Olòrún is the Yorùbá name given to one of the three manifestations of the Supreme God in the Yoruba pantheon. Olorun is the owner of the heavens and is commonly associated with the Sun. The vital energy of Olorun manifests in humans as Ashé, which is the life force that runs through all living things."

I believe that Koffi Olomide gave himself this last name just as he gave himselves multiple nicknames, including "Mopao".

WHAT KOFFI OLOMIDE'S NICKNAME "MOPAO" MEANS

****
WHAT "NGWASUMA" MEANS
"Papa Ngwasuma" is another nickname that Congolese Soukous (African  Rhumba) superstar Koffi Olomide (probably) gave to himself.  Koffi Olomide
has given a number of other superlative nicknames to himself (such as Mopao) and used a few of them as the titles of his songs.

But Did You Know That This Man Has Created Some 35 Other Crazy Nicknames That He Likes To Call Himself? Here Are His Other Names. WARNING: They’re Very Weird.

"Bana" is a Lingala word that means "children" [Google translate from Lingala to English.]

"Papa Ngwasuma" means something like "papa (father) of good things or "Great father".

Several commenters wrote that "Waah!" is an exclamation of excitement and/or suprise.

Note: I added italics to the comment that gives the transcriber's opinion about the "bad words" that are being transcribed. The asterisks are given in this transcription in place of the word "vagina".

The transcription ends with the commenter's words:
"Done

One africa one love ❤️"

I added bracket for the name "Koffi" in this transcription to distinguish that indication of who is singing from the lyrics to the song itself.

By Dan B. Atuhaire

Koffi Olomide will be in Kampala this month for a number of charity activities and a music concert. He will be the headlining artiste at a charity concert organised by Rotary Uganda. Here’s a few facts about the singer.

1) Koffi Olomide is 57 Years Old. He was born Christophe Antoine Agbepa Mumba, to a Congolese father and Sierra Leone mother on 13 July 1956.

2) The name Koffi was given to him in line with the common West African naming tradition (Sierra Leone, Ghana) in relation to the day of the week one is born. Koffi is one of the names given to boys born on Friday.

Popular male names for the other weekdays are: Kojo(Monday), Komla(Tuesday), Kwaku(Wednesday), Yao(Thursday), Kwame(Saturday) and Kwasi(Sunday)

3) Koffi Olomide is a proud holder of a Bachelors’ Degree in Business Economics. He also has a Masters’ Degree in Mathematics from the University of Paris.

4) He started his music career with Papa Wemba’s band, Viva la Musica, initially as a composer and song-writer, and later as a vocalist and lead-singer.

5) The name Olomide was coined during his time at Viva La Musica. Koffi was such an impressive songwriter that one day in 1977 Papa Wemba exclaimed, “Ooh! l’homme idee” (Oh! the idea-man!). A funkier version of the words was adopted – Olomide. Koffi Olomide would later become his official stage name."...

6) Koffi Olomide went solo in 1986, forming his own band that he called Quartier Latin. He does a unique genre, a slower style of soukous that he calls Tcha Tcho."...

He keeps up with the current terminologies-especially when he is the first celebrity to popularize them."..

INFORMATION ABOUT KOFI OLOMIDE
From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koffi_Olomide
"Antoine Christophe Agbepa Mumba, also known as Koffi Olomide (Friday, July 13, 1956), is a DR Congolese soukous singer, dancer, producer, and composer. He is also known by a multitude of other names and aliases.[1]

He was born in Kisangani, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. His father is Congolese (Gbandi tribe from Equateur region) and his mother was born from a Sierra-Leone father and a Congolese mother (Songye tribe from Kasaï region). According to the ethnic custom of his Sierra-Leone grand father, his mother named him 'Koffi' because he was born on a Friday.[2] Koffi grew up in the city of Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in a middle-class family, where education was valued.

He earned a scholarship and went to study in Bordeaux, France where he obtained a Bachelors Degree in Business Economics. He is also reported to hold a Masters Degree in Mathematics from the University of Paris...

Upon his return to Congo in the 1970s he joined Papa Wemba's band, Viva la Musica, at first as a composer and song-writer, and later as a vocalist and lead-singer. He launched his solo career. In 1986, Koffi formed his band known as Quartier Latin, which celebrated its 20-year anniversary in 2006. Since then, he has performed and recorded both with the group and by himself. Over the years, he has built up a faithful fan base Internationally, particularly in Africa and Europe. Koffi popularized the slower style of soukous, which he dubbed Tcha Tcho. Koffi's music can be quite controversial, taking on current events and topics considered taboo in some conservative societies. He has also participated in the salsa music project Africando. For his effort, Effrakata, released in 2001-2002, Koffi received four Kora Awards on a single night at the annual Kora Awards in South Africa for 2002/2003, including the award for Best African Artist, which he had earlier won in 1998. More recently, he has won the Kora Award for "Best African Artist of The Decade". This led to the establishment of one of his many aliases as the 'Quadra Kora Man'...

Koffi, who mostly refers to himself as Mopao... Mopao is the undisputed king of romantic rhumba. Not only that, he is one of Africa's biggest musicians today."

INFORMATION ABOUT SOUKOUS MUSIC
From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soukous
"Soukous is a genre of dance music[1] that originated from African rumba music of the Belgian Congo and French Congo during the 1940s and gained popularity throughout Africa.

Soukous is known as Congo in West Africa and Lingala in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania after the Lingala language of the lyrics. In Zambia and Zimbabwe, where Congolese music is also influential, it is still usually referred to as Rumba.

Soukous", a derivative of the French word secousse - " to shake"[2] - was originally the name of a dance popular in the Congos in the late 1960s, an African version of the Cuban Rumba. From the 1940s Afro-Cuban son groups such as Septeto Habanero and Trio Matamoros had been played over Radio Congo Belge in Léopoldville (Kinshasa) and the Congo shared the widespread poplarity of Cuban music during the late 1940s and 1950s."[3]...

The fast soukous music currently dominating dance floors in central, eastern and western Africa is called soukous ndombolo, performed by Dany Engobo, Awilo Longomba, Aurlus Mabele, Koffi Olomide and groups like Extra Musica and Wenge Musica among others.

The hip-swinging dance to the fast pace of soukous ndombolo has come under criticism amid charges that it is obscene. There have been attempts to ban it in Mali, Cameroon and Kenya. After an attempt to ban it from state radio and television in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 2000, it became even more popular. In February, 2005 ndombolo music videos in the DR Congo were censored for indecency, and video clips by Koffi Olomide, JB M'Piana and Werrason were banned from the airwaves.[14][15][16]"
