Lotties Flock, Aug 2, 2009 -snip- This African American children's (family) singing game is called "Here We Go Zoodio".
Coach Jay, October 15, 2022 -snip- According to two comments in the discussion thread for a 2018 copy of this same YouTube video, this cheer was taped at a practice session for these cheerleaders. In the actual performance of the cheer, the members of the basketball team run (usually single file) in the "row" between the two rows of cheerleaders.

**** SELECTED COMMENTS FROM THE DISCUSSION THREAD OF THIS SHOWCASE VIDEO Andra Day Slays in Aaron Pierre-Inspired
Spirit Tunnel
These comments were published in that discussion thread between January 23, 2025 and January 24, 2025. This is just one of a number of clips of this video on YouTube, TikTok, and on other social media.
Numbers are added to these comments from referencing purposes only.
I've included brief explanatory notes after a some of these comments.
1. @nyiajwilliams7668 "When she started doing the Aaron P
dance, i screamed. YAasss MAAm❤❤ππ" -snip- "Yass"= an African American Vernacular English form of the word "yes". I believe that this word is purposely pronounced and/or spelled that way to convey "hippness".
** Reply 2. @grandma4557 "Omg i didn't even notice till i read
your comment, ππππ i was to busy looking at her
hair & makeup....ayeee" -snip- "Ayeee" is a widely used exclamation of excitement that some African Americans say and write online. This word is pronounced like the letter "a" in the word "day", "say", "may" etc. and is usually elongated.
** Reply 3. @lavertu4065 "I said no she didn't πππ
Too funny!!"
** 4. @thankmelater90210 "Not her doing the "Aaron" movesπ"
** Reply 5. @dimakatsomakimoloko4947 "She killed itπππshe
definitely had the video on repeat π❤❤❤" -snip- "Killed" (and "slayed") means "to do something very well".
** 6. @latonyalee8839 "Andrea grooved all the way down the
happy tunnel ❤" -snip- Jennifer Hudson and her staff refers to her nationally televised daytime talk show as "the happy place" and refers to these celebrity hallway walks as "spirit tunnels".
** 7. @MsMica24 "The girl on right doing the “RAWR”
always gets me lol" -snip- "Do the roar"(spelled her as "rawr" is a meme that was created from the now iconic scene in the animated 2010 movie Strek Forever After when a little boy who is a fan of Strek repeatedly and forcefully demands that Strek "do the roar".
** 8. @latonyalee8839 "My girl Andra go girl! Looking cute
loving that outfit ❤"
** 9. @keishaplus549 "She did that ππΏ"
** 10. @vernessiasmith3038 "Love the high fives she got it down pack
lol" -snip- "High fives" are an African American created gesture in which two people exchange raised hand claps. High Fives can be exchanged with one of your hands or with your two hands at the same time. Two older ways of saying "give high fives" are "slap me five" and "give me some skin". "Slap me five on the back hand side" means to exchange high fives on the back side of your hands. "Down low" means to slap five holding your hand or hands down instead of up. -snip- In the sentence "She got it down pack" the word "pack" is probably a typo. The correct way of saying this is "She got down pat".
** 11. @MSMETALBABY "Ok Andra, you betta work!! ππΎ"
** 12. @biochar "This is now a thingππ❤❤" -snip- "This is now a thing" means that "this is something that people are doing now (i.e. It is popular (trending) now.)
** 14. @shellyanne7 "Omg I love this so muchππ❤❤"
** 15. @MichelMawon4982 "Too cute" -snip- "Too cute" is a compliment that means that it and/or the person/people being referenced are really nice and appealing.
** 16. @diamonds0613 "I was about to say why are they singing
Aaron Pierre’s song then when she started doing the dance I loved it!! π"
** 17. @AVeryStableGenuis "What did Aaron start Lord? Loll"
** 19. @gcchair7634 "She was doing the Aaron Pierre dance"
** 20. @TierraSanea87 "The "Aaron Pierre Spirit
tunnel" challenge πππ She killed it! ❣️"
** 21. @debs-en3lr "Aaron Pierre better trademark his dance ππ
She killed itππΎ"
** 22. @LanaTheModernMuse "Not she studied that video like all the
rest of us. The slow motion high-fives got me weak. ππ"
** Reply 23. @thegodhonesttruth1584 "All of us could walk through like Aaron

** Reply 24. @reneelandrum9704 "He got us ALL locked in! ππππ"
** Reply 25. @Gigi-s9i "All I’m hearing is “Aaron Pierre that’s
Mufasa” π"
** Reply 26. @shaunaperkins2082 "Frππ" -snip- Fr= "for real" (a term of agreement)
** Reply 27. @InhaleExhaleBreathLaughLove "Ma'am I hear that in my sleep π "
** 28. @hotdayum "The same girl in the DST jacket on the
right doing the RAWR thing againππ" -snip- "DST"= Delta Sigma Theta (a historically African American Greek letter sorority)
** 29. @tye958 "Okaaay She Straight Up Slayed the Aaron
Pierce Danceπ₯"
** 30. @wandasistarealevans8141 "She’s sooo beautiful! Aaron Pierre has
created a CHALLENGE! π₯ #thatsmufasa"
** 31. @cjlj108 "You did that Andra!! π€£π€£
I hollered at the first move & high five π AP would be proud π " -snip- "You did that" is African American Vernacular English for "You did that very well."
** 32. @forevertrina6481 "Okay with the “Aaron Pierre” dance! π" -snip- This comment with its accompanying emojis conveys appreciation for Andra Day performing that dance. In standard American English this comment could be written "Alright! I see that you are doing the same dance moves that Aaron Pierre did, and I really approve of you doing that."
** 33. @dyoung2739 "The Spirit Tunnel❤️has so much positive
energy. Andra definitely knows the “Aaron Pierre that’s Mufasa” spirit tunnel
moves❤️ππΌππΎ."
** 34. @Sapphiresocean "π¨π¨π£️π£️π£️πOh
lil sis just killed “Aaron Pierre That’s Mufasa!!” This chant I Swear LIVES
Rent Free in our heads! π
He & Blair Undersood have had the
BEST scrolls on their chants!! π―π₯ππππ♥️ππ♥️ππ♥️ππ♥️πππ₯π₯π₯" -snip- "Lil sis" =an affectionate referent for a female, especially a Black female
"living rent free in our heads" = something that you are constantly thinking about without paying for it
The word "scrolls" in that comment is probably a typo for the word "stroll", a late 1950s R&B strutting dance that Blair Underwood and Aaron Pierre did for their Jennifer Hudson Show Spirit Tunnels.
** 35. @kid8563 "They have so much fun going that hallway
and we have so much fun watching them π"
** 36. @InhaleExhaleBreathLaughLove "The way i love this just as much as
Aaron's. A whole vibe ❤π" -snip- "A whole vibe"= An African American (usually) complimentary phrase that means someone who (or something that) completely embodies a mood or feeling or atmosphere. "A whole vibe" can also mean someone who does something very well.
** 37. @shaquanyoung3933 "All over the world Sisterhood is united,
us watching Aaron P dance at least 3 times a day. ππAndra looks
so beautiful❤❤" -snip- The word "sisterhood" in this comment means "females" regardless of race, ethnicity, or nationality.
** 38. @deborahwilliams6630 "She knew the assignment and followed through with no hesitation.
Ayyyyeee! Heyyyeee! What! Who! She did that‼️
JHUD Production, great job!great show!ππππππ" -snip- "She knew the assignment" means "She knew what she needed to do and she did it well."
** 39. @beachgemblue "Aaron Pierre, you will always be famous πππ"
** 40. @lavenderlillies8149 "Jennifer's show runners and crew are
awesome. Their collective energy is always on point, and I have no doubt that
they massively contribute to the good vibes of the guests and the show in
general. Big ups to them❤❤π" -snip- "on point" = exactly right (exactly the way it's supposed to be)
"good vibes" = positive vibrations; good spirits (emotions)
"Big ups" = congratulations to
** 41. @nkoliadeyeye629 'I ❤❤❤❤❤ her. She's a beautiful πΈ.
I ❤ her personality as well. The tunnel performances always brighten my day.
Thank you guys. π π"
** 42. @Stacey_Mae "So cute
She has definitely watched Aaron Pierre

I Smiled. π Go, Girl! Get it!!" -snip- Go, get it!" = A widely used exclamation that means "Continue doing what you are doing well."
** 44. @Stephanie-x8t9k "Its our dance yall! I am learning it we
better get in it !" -snip- "Yall" = you all (a plural form of the word "you" meaning the commenter is talking to the everyone who is reading or writing in in that discussion thread.
"get in it"= start doing it
** 45. @ceida721 "Why do i get and go down the spirit

**** PANCOCOJAMS EDITOR'S NOTE ABOUT THIS D NICE'S SPIRIT TUNNEL Unlike most of the videos of Jennifer Hudson's Spirit Tunnels, this DJ D. Nice video shows him leaving the studio after his episode was filmed.
Click https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pPdtIc3n3QIJennifer Hudson Spirit Tunnel: Squid Game, Abbott
Elementary, Mufasa (and more) published by Trending At Some Point, January 15, 2025 (from 3:46 to 4:20) for a Jennifer Hudson Show Spirit Tunnel video . In that video, D Nice is shown walking down the hallway before the taping of his segment on that daytime talk show. The staff chants in unison with the words "We got D-Nice" being the most prominent line in that chant and D-Nice responds "Hey" (or "Aye") as he walks down that hall way. My opinion is that D-Nice's post-show Spirit Tunnel is far more appealing than that pre-show Spirit Tunnel.
D-Nice's post show Spirit Tunnel has a call & response pattern. My guess is that the Jennifer Hudson staff who are featured in this Spirit Tunnel were divided into two groups. Group #1 begins the chant by saying "It's D-Nice". Group #2 then immediately chants "Let's go". Group #1 then chants "It's D-Nice". That pattern continues throughout the entire chant.
However, at the same time or almost the same time that Group #2 chants their consistent response of "Let's Go", D Nice ad-libs several different brief responses. In my opinion, D. Nice's spontaneous responses enhance his Spirit Tunnel and add a flavor to the mix which is simultaneously African American Gospel and African American Hip Hop.
**** INFORMATION ABOUT D NICE From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D-Nice "Derrick T. Jones (born June 19, 1970), better known by his
stage name D-Nice, is an American DJ, record producer, and rapper who began his
career in the mid-1980s with the hip hop group Boogie Down Productions.[2] He
discovered Kid Rock in 1988, landing him a deal with Jive Records.
Jones was born and raised in the Harlem neighborhood of
Manhattan, New York City.[3] He later moved to The Bronx as a teenager. At age
15, it was there that he met Scott La Rock and later formed Boogie Down
Productions along with KRS-One in 1986.[3] In his early career with the group,
he was given the nicknames as "the Human TR-808" and "the
808". D-Nice also gained significant popularity when he produced the song
"Self-Destruction" for the Stop the Violence Movement.[3]
Soon after the song released, D-Nice signed a
solo deal with Jive Records and released his debut studio album called Call Me
D-Nice in 1990.[3] The album peaked at #75 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums and
#12 on the Top Black Albums chart. It was also rated 3.5 out of 5 mics by The

**** WORDS FOR D NICE'S JENNIFER HUDSON SHOW SPIRIT TUNNEL (walking from the studio after filming his December 2024 episode of the Jennifer Hudson Show)
Staff Group #1- It’s D-Nice. Staff Group #2- Let’s go! D-Nice- Hey! (or "Aye" which is pronounced the same way as "Hey" & means the same thing.) Staff Group #1 -It's DJ D- Nice. Staff Group #2- Let’s go! D-Nice-What?! Staff Group #1 -It's DJ D-Nice. Staff Group #1-It’s D-Nice Staff Group #2 -Let’s go! D. Nice -Come on! Staff Group #1- It's DJ D-Nice. Staff Group #1-It’s D-Nice. Staff Group #2 -Let’s go! D-Nice-"Turn it up!" Staff Group #1 - DJ D-Nice. Group #1 -It’s D-Nice. Staff Group #2 -Let’s go! D-Nice- What's my name? Staff Group #1 -It's DJ D-Nice. Staff Group #1 -It's D-Nice. Staff Group #2 -Let’s go! D. Nice-Let's go! Staff Group #1 -DJ D-Nice. -snip- At the end of the hall way, D. Nice laughs, turns
around to the staff, and says “You guys are awesome”. he then makes a flourishing bow to them in appreciation. The staff
continues chanting "It's D Nice" It's DJ D Nice" even when D Nice walks down the hallway away from them. -snip- This is my unofficial transcription of this Spirit Tunnel.
I believe that the beat pattern for this chant is stomp/ clap/ stompstompstomp clap. That beat pattern continues without pause throughout the entire chant.
Michelle Obama, Halle Bailey, Naturi Naughton-Lewis, and more — oh, my! Don’t miss the latest stars stepping into the “Jennifer Hudson Show” Spirit Tunnels. Watch D-Nice, Smokey Robinson, the cast of “No Good Deed,” and Lucky Daye. Plus, see Kerry Washington and the cast of “The Six Triple Eight” bring their moves to the hallway!

**** LYRICS- CIARA'S JENNIFER HUDSON SPIRIT TUNNEL*
A woman yells in an accented loud announcer voice: “The
Princess is here!”
Staff yells “Ciara!”
Staff sings:
Rock it don’t stop it.
We about to get it on.
Ciara’s in the house.
Ciara’s at the Happy Place
We love her at the Happy Place.
CiCi’s at the Happy Place.
She about to hit the stage.
Ooo Wee!
It don’t matters to me.
We can dance slow.
Whichever way it be our bodies will flow.
So swing it over here
With J Hud.
And we will, we will rock you
Oh-o!
It don't matter to me, we can dance slow.
Whichever way the beat drops. Our bodies will go. So swing it over here And we will, we will rock you.
(Repeat the entire song that the staff sings together.)

A number of the comments below refer to this type of clapping on beats 2 and 4 instead of beats 1 and 3.
I decided to include this section as my editorial note instead of as an Addendum to this post.s
A number of commenters in the discussion thread of the YouTube video short that is showcased in this post wrote that Lee Jung jae started off clapping off-beat (i.e. clapping on 1 and 3, but eventually started clapping on-beat (i.e. clapping on 2and 4). At least one commenter also wrote that toward the end of his Spirit Tunnel actor Lee Jung -jae also was clapping double time (double tempo) and was doing the "raise the roof" celebratory gesture.

I haven't come across a video of Sherri Shepherd's Spirit Tunnel yet. If you know of a link for that video, please share it in this post's comment section below.
I believe that the Angela Bassett's Spirit Tunnel video that was filmed on September 14, 2024 when she was the guest celebrity for the Jennifer Hudson Show's Season 3 Premiere was when Jennifer Hudson Spirit Tunnels began to go viral. Click https://youtube.com/shorts/5JtIN1JM8Ps?si=735j6KOyVzAi2RCr for a YouTube video short of that Spirit Tunnel that was published by @9MagTV on September 14, 2024.
**** The word "spirit" in the term "Spirit Tunnels" probably refers to people being spirited (i.e. energetic and/or enthusiastic as the word "spirit" is used in pep rallies. The word "spirit" in the term "Spirit Tunnels" also probably refers to raising a person or persons' spirit by directly or indirectly experiencing the performance art form that Jennifer Hudson named the "Spirit Tunnel".
In addition tot hose meanings of the word "spirit", when Jennifer Hudson created the term "Spirit Tunnel", she may have also used the word "spirit" as an abbreviation for the word "spiritual".
Here's a portion of a conversation that Jennifer Hudson had with her talk show guest actor Courtney B. Vance in November 21, 2004.
from 1:50-2:57 of that video's automated transcription (with my addition of capitalizations and a transcription correction.)
Courtney B.Vance (CBV) "It's so wonderful the energy that you've created here ...just so real"
Jennifer Hudson (JH) "Thank you. Thank you. Thank you."
CBV -"Talk shows are...talk shows are tricky. And this one is is...I feel alive here I feel uh oh. I..
JH- "we love...we love hearing that. All of us. And having you here...
CBV - From everybody. I mean Miss Casey [referring to a specific staff person who the camera shows off stage] ...
JH- That's that spiritual feel... only as good as the people around. It's real. We we love each other. We enjoy each other. We we have a great time. And don't forget this amazing audience. Look at them. [The camera shows the audience who are smiling and clapping.]
The the the the thing is Courtney- hear me out- ....It takes us all to come together to create great energy....That's the goal each and every day here at the...what we call "The Happy Place"...We want to ... give you some joy and happiness and celebration"... -snip- Angela Basset is Courtney B. Vance's wife. She was one of the first celebrities to experience a "Spirit Tunnel" when she was the guest celebrity for the Jennifer Hudson Show's Season 3 Premiere on September 14, 2024. The YouTube video short of Angela Bassett's Spirit Tunnel went viral. As a result of his conversation with his wife about her Spirit Tunnel, and as a result of that video short going viral, Courtney B. Vance knew that he would likely be welcomed to Jennifer Hudson's Talk Show with his own version of the Spirit Tunnel.
In addition to those meanings for the word "spirit", my guess is that Jennifer Hudson also chose the name "Spirit Tunnel" for the hallway welcome/hype walk that is a pre-show feature of her daytime talk show because that term evokes the tradition and spirit of Historically Black College & University (HBCU) marching bands' tunnels. Thanks to their YouTube video shorts, Jennifer Hudson's Spirit Tunnels have gone viral. **** But why did Jennifer Hudson add the word "tunnel" to her term for her talk show's hallway walk instead of calling it something like... "hallway walk"?
My guess in naming that performance form "Spirit Tunnel" Jennifer Hudson was honoring and evoking the energy and spirit of Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU)'s marching band tunnel traditions.
"Tunnel- a tunnel is where the drum line forms a physical tunnel and the band marches through. Usually there are traditional movements and rituals that go on in the tunnel as well as a tunnel cadence. See NCAT’s Pfunk or NSU’s tunnel." -snip- Click https://pancocojams.blogspot.com/2025/01/seven-youtube-videos-of-historical.html for the pancocojams post entitled "Seven YouTube Videos Of Historical Black Colleges & Universities (HBCU) Marching Band Tunnels."
