Amber Rose voiced passionate support for Donald Trump in a five-minute speech at Monday night's Republican National Convention, from which the former Apprentice host will emerge as the party's official nominee in the presidential election.

The 40-year-old model and ex whatever that was of Kanye West & ex-wife of rapper Wiz Khalifa, introduced herself as a mother while on stage inside Milwaukee's Fiserv Forum, where party members gathered to support Trump as the party's candidate. She added that she felt compelled to speak at the RNC after feeling a commonality among all parents to provide for their families, regardless of political affiliation.

Meanwhile Democratic strategist Van Jones said Monday that model and rapper Amber Rose’s speech was “the most effective” of Day 1 of the Republican National Convention and therefore could be “the most dangerous” for Democrats in this election cycle.

Early life

Amber Levonchuck was born in Philadelphia on October 21, 1983, to Dorothy Rose[1] and Michael Levonchuck. Her father is of Irish and Italian descent[4] and her mother is of Cape Verdean and maternal Scottish descent from Ayrshire. She has one brother named Antonio Hewlett.[5] Rose grew up in South Philadelphia.[6]

Rose said she began stripping at the age of 15 under the pseudonym "Paris" to provide for her family after her parents' divorce. On Van Lathan's The Red Pill podcast, she said that she also attempted to sell crack cocaine, but was not successful.[4][7]

Career

Rose's appearance in the music video for Young Jeezy's 2008 single "Put On" caught the attention of Kanye West, who guest performed on the song and video.[8] Rose then gained wider exposure after posing for a Louis Vuitton print advertisement featuring West's sneaker line.[9] She walked the runway at New York Fashion Week for "Celestino", and later made cameos in music videos including Nicki Minaj's "Massive Attack", Young Jeezy's "Vacation", Wiz Khalifa's "No Sleep", Fabolous' "You Be Killin' Em", Ludacris' "What Them Girls Like" and Future's "Mask Off".[10] She was signed with modeling agency Ford Models from 2009 to 2010.[11]

In 2010, she appeared in Russell Simmons's reality show about his two assistants, Running Russell Simmons. She also starred in a PSA by NOH8 Campaign.[12] In 2011, Rose was a guest judge on Season 3 of RuPaul's Drag Race. She was also a judge on Season 2 of Master of the Mix. In November 2011, she became the spokesperson for Smirnoff and appeared in television ads and billboards for the company's new flavors Whipped Cream and Fluffed Marshmallow.[13]

On August 30, 2016, Rose was announced as one of the celebrities who would compete on the 23rd season of Dancing with the Stars. She was partnered with professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy.[14] They were eliminated on October 17 and finished in ninth place.[15]

Rose dated rapper Kanye West for two years, starting in 2008.[33]

In 2013, she married rapper Wiz Khalifa and the two had a son together. [34][35][36] Rose, Khalifa, and their son divided their time between homes in Los Angeles and Canonsburg, Pennsylvania.[37][38][39] Rose filed for divorce from Khalifa on September 22, 2014, citing irreconcilable differences and planned to take full custody of their son.[40] As of 2015, Rose and Khalifa have joint custody of their son.[41]

She briefly dated Machine Gun Kelly in 2015.[42] In 2016, Rose dated NBA player Terrence Ross.[43]

Beginning in summer 2017, Rose was dating 21 Savage.[44] As of March 2018, the couple was separated.[45]

In 2009, in regard to her sexual orientation, Rose stated, "I'm extremely open with my sexuality. I can be in love with a woman, I can be in love with a man. As far as humans go, I definitely find beauty in everybody, whether they're heavy-set, super-skinny, if they're white, black, Indian, Asian, Spanish. I can see beauty in anybody. If I see a woman and I think she's beautiful and I like her, and she likes me back we can definitely try to be in a relationship together."[46] In 2016, Rose told guest Margaret Cho during an episode of her podcast Love Line with Amber Rose that she once dated a trans man.[47]

On April 3, 2019, Rose announced on Instagram that she was expecting her second child with Def Jam executive Alexander "A.E." Edwards.[48] In October 2019, Rose gave birth to a son.[49]

When asked about Donald Trump in August 2016, Rose stated, "He's just such an idiot. He's so weird. I really hope he's not president."[50] However, by May 2024, Rose announced her support for Trump in the upcoming presidential election,[51] formally endorsing him during a speech at the 2024 Republican National Convention in July claiming the mainstream media lies about Trump.[52]"...

Rose began her speech by introducing herself as a model and entrepreneur, but “most importantly,” a mother — a role she’s especially proud of, as evidenced by her forehead tattoos.

As she has explained in the past, Rose’s face tattoos — which read “Bash” and “Slash” — were inked in honor of her two sons, Sebastian and Slash.

“This is like my crown,” she remarked of the tattoos in a 2023 interview with Entertainment Tonight. “I love tattoos. I felt like, you know, usually women wouldn’t do this, so it made me want to do it more.

“And I enjoy pissing people off as well. It’s pretty fun,” she added, referencing critics of her ink.

Before getting the tattoos, Rose told ET she had the design stenciled on her head for “about four days, five days” to see if she could “live with it.”

As of December 2023, however, she appeared to have no regrets.
