"I'm a Gen X white woman who has always voted Dem/Progressive
and was so excited thinking we were going to finally have our first woman
president. I held a lot of anger and hatred in my heart for MAGA and thought I
would never be able to forgive anyone who voted for Trump. However, when I
watched videos from black content creators, the message was that us white
people needed to get the other white people in line. I didn't know how to do
this, as my family and friends are also Dem/Progressive. When I saw the videos
on The Purple Revolution, I was skeptical at first, but then I realized that
this is my opportunity to help create a space where disillusioned MAGA can
deprogram and join with those of us who are trying to save our democracy. I
still hold a lot of anger inside of me for what they have done to our country,
but I am willing to try to do so for those who are genuinely able to apologize
and take accountability for their actions. Plus, I also want to be involved so
that I can see first hand what path this movement takes and sound the alarm if
it seems to be going sideways. 🤷♀"

"@TabithaSpeaksPolitics I was raised in a Southern sundown
town, I'm so white, I make a saltine look suntanned, and I agree with what you
said here 100%. Over the course of my life, I've learned to NEVER trust a
"good ol' boy," because no matter what, they're ALWAYS in it for
themselves."

"Old white guy here, IMHO this is a white folks fight. This
chaos out there is being done in my name and for my "heritage" and I
dissent. I agree with Heather Cox Richardson's
observation that she tells her black and brown neighbors to stay out of
this, she is in less danger than her friends are and this is a fight for decent
white folks to stand up for and win. This all happened on our watch. It cannot
stand. As to the purple revolution, I'm also watching the Cult College gal,
whoever she is. Maybe she is on to something, I'm intrigued but a bit
skeptical. But if there is a segment of the right ready to leave the cult they
bought into, and there are folks on the left able to help open that door for
them, that's good. But that is only one part of the larger movement that needs
to come together.
I lived in deep rural for years and I saw a progressive left
cult led by a narcissistic sociopath nearly destroy a community over
environmental issues used to divide and grab power, about 10-15 years ago. The
left is no more immune from cult-driven power politics than the right. But even
though my community was sharply divided back then, I saw progressives join with
conservatives against that environmentalist cult masquerading as Democrats
simply because they didn't like bullies either and were fond of saying:
"Hell hath no fury as a liberal scorned." When we realized we'd been
bamboozled by a charismatic narcissist boy did we get pissed. The fellow became
a state senator and then was kicked out of office for sexual harassment that
finally undid him. Hopefully this pattern will repeat itself as many in the
MAGA cult begin to realize they'd been hoodwinked. So, the purple revolution
could get legs, its too early to tell. But, there are lots of
"hipnecks" out there, think Austin Texas and Willie Nelson fans.
The last thing I'll say, that even though my community had been divided, if
someone's house burned down, everyone always came together to help a family
rebuild, politics be damned. We need local projects for people to come together
around

"It's important to remember that the Purple thing is
spearheaded by progressives who feel very uncomfortable with conflict.
Therefore, they will sell everyone out and then say, "I was trying to
unify...."
It is a very special kind of selfish these people wield. I
say this as a Gen-X straight white dude...their stance is insulting to the
people who are being hurt every day."

"As a privileged white man, I have been voting for Democrats
since the 80s. I know that black people are the leaders of democracy and have
been for a long, long time. 90% of black people vote Democrat, I listen, listen
to the candidates, read the policies and vote accordingly. My strategy is to
vote Democrat in every election without wavering for the rest of my life. There
is no progressive fantasy issue that is going to make me stray from this
strategy."

"For what it's worth (as a white lady), I'm 💯
supportive of bipoc folks sitting all this out. Anyone expecting you to be out
there is f--kin* stupid. Please stay safe and sane.
Black folks have screamed and shouted warnings and shown us
the way forever and it's time for us to grab the blueprints and take action.
I've been involved in social justice for a while, but clearly not enough and
I'm sorry for that.
Take good care fo yourself 💜"

"As a white man in the north, all I can say is they
RED's need to denounce DJT, not
"this it's the elites, the rich vs poor," like no MFers you elected
the guy who ushered all of this in and until a couple months ago you were all
on board for the cuts, the removal of anyone not white in government, the deportations, the cruelty
all the way until you felt it in your pockets, and then Epstine, other than
that none of those MAGA people would have even bothered to seek unity".

"I am white and they are asking me to trust people that want
to hurt dear friends and family of mine.
They consider us t*errorists for our beliefs while they applauded and
downplayed a violent insurrection and continue to applaud the violent detention
of undocumented people and further the marginalization of the most vulnerable
of us. Then the Purple People want to
guilt me into accepting them no questions asked. I don't think so. I need to see a lot of action on their part.

"65 year old white woman here and I agree with you, don't
trust them. Let them show how they regret their choice in the next election.
Let them take to the streets taking a stand if we don't get to vote for some
reason. The only reason they are
speaking out now is because they are getting the day they voted for. It is a
good thing but let them gather and stand up against what they voted for. I stand with you."

else can we get there without those others who realize they messed up and
change their ways. It’s political. It’s necessary. Human rights should be
priority. It’s a beginning…. I voted for
Marianne Williamson and then Kamala Harris. You are 100% right though, it’s
mostly blues trying to get reds to join them and it might be like letting a
wolf in the chicken house. It’s my favorite color though."

DISCUSSION THREAD #2
From https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umNCyhfpSd8 "Agenda Of Purple Revolution:6 Pts"
#trump #maga #ICE #unity
#thepurplerevolution #revolution #resist" by Cult College, Oct 7, 2025
Pancocojams Editor's Note: In contrast to the comments from White people that are featured in Discussion thread #1, in this discussion thread, commenters rarely identify themselves by race.
My guess is that is because most of the commenters in Tabitha Speaks Politics' discussion threads are Black Americans, so it has been customary for non-Black commenters to add their racial identifier in their comments.
In contrast, it appears that most of the commenters in Cult College's discussion threads are White and for that reason White has become a default (expected) racial identifier in that discussion thread (as it is elsewhere in most vlogs and most other sites that don't specifically target a specific racial population.

The word "her" in the sentence "I agree with her" (and in similar sentences) refer to the Black American YouTuber Tabitha Speaks Politics.

much. I found that video thought provoking and fair. IMO white people started
this, white people allowed it to simmer and then boil over, and white people
need to defeat it. No one darker than beige should feel obligated to jump in
here before they feel comfortable and safe doing that - same goes for every
other group that has been attacked and demonized. They’ll join us IF they want
to, and IF they feel safe doing so. And to any of them that are here now, I
offer my deepest respect and gratitude. Us allies may not ever see much racial
diversity in here (or LGBTQ+ representation), but it is our responsibility to
carry their needs and humanity with us into every single minute of this work,
every conversation - not to browbeat or shame people with, but to foster the
true ground-level mindset change that we need to see in the white population.
And to make sure that whatever system emerges from this has at its base the
fundamentals of equality and justice FOR ALL."

"@KylesMom1983 I’m not just talking about voting history
though. Even POC who are hardcore MAGA I don’t consider to be fully at the root
of the issue - they’ve been indoctrinated into a system that is rewarding them
for their proximity to whiteness. They’ve been tricked into thinking it will
keep them safe. Us white people are the ones who MADE that system, PROPPED UP
that system, and BENEFITTED from that system. I consider my white self to have
indirect more responsibility for this problem than any triple-trump POC voter,
even though I’ve been liberal/left/progressive all my conscious life and have
never once in 20 years of voting knowingly supported a Republican. Because I
have realized that voting “blue” doesn’t mean you haven’t been enabling the
racist patriarchal structures that helped get us exactly where we are right
now. When us white Americans finally make it safe to exist and thrive in
brown/black skin, I suppose we can have more to say to people of color who vote
for open racists."
