**
This list doesn't include examples of songs that include the word "real" which were/are known in the United States but were sung by non-United States artists.

Four examples of such songs are The Beatles' 1996 song "Real Love" (The Beatles are from England), Shaggy's 2000 song "Keep'n It Real" (Shaggy is from Jamaica), Drake's 2011 song "The Real Her" (Drake is from Canada), and Hozier's 2013 song "Like Real People Do" (Hozier is fromIreland).

**
In the songs in this list, the word "real" means "authentic, genuine".

**
WARNING- Most of the examples of Hip Hop/Rap records include lyrics that are Parent Advisory because of profanity, the n word, sexually explicit lyrics, violent content, and/or references to illegal drugs.

AN EXCERPT FROM AN ARTICLE ABOUT THIS SUBJECT

“Real signifies authentic.

Music has always been a powerful medium for an artist to deliver their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Sometimes, their songs convey a message around the concept of authenticity and genuine connection.

It often generates the essence of what it means to be in a real-world filled with challenges and hustles, whether it's about exploring love or self-identity, it offers a unique perspective on a universal theme.”…
