This pancocojams post showcases a YouTube video of an interview with Ynairaly Simo, the thirteen year old actress who voiced the character of Gabi in the 2021 animated movie Vivo. Information about Ynairaly Simo is included in this post.

As a result of reading the name of that actress, I started searching online for examples of the name "Ynairaly" and examples of similarly spelled personal names that might have influenced that name. This post presents some information that I found from that google search.

The content of this post is presented for cultural and onomastic purposes.

Thanks to Ynairaly Simo for voicing the memorable character Gabi in the Vivo movie, and thanks to Lin-Manuel Miranda and all others who are associated with that movie. Also, thanks to all those who are quoted in this post and thanks to the publisher of the YouTube video that is showcased in this post.

PANCOCOJAMS EDITOR'S NOTES
Click https://pancocojams.blogspot.com/2021/08/song-my-own-drum-from-2021-animated.html for the related pancocojams post entitled "Song "My Own Drum" from the 2021 animated movie Vivo (Official video, lyrics, & Information)."

Excerpts that are quoted in that post indicate that Ynairaly Simo is an American thirteen year old girl
https://hive.news/news/how-old-is-ynairaly-simo-age-parents-and-boyfriend?uid=124476 and that "Ynairaly was born to Dominican parents Ydamys and Joseph Simo"...
I think that the name "Ynairaly" is pronounced "Ye-NEER-ah-lee" (with "Ye" rhyming with the English word "he" and "me". I believe that is how the vlog host pronounced "Ynairaly" in this August 5, 2021 YouTube interview with that actress: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOF6SEBrZVQ&ab_channel=PowerRecordsEnt  "Ynairaly Simo Talks Playing Gabi In Vivo, Recording "My Own Drum" & Working With Lin-Manuel Miranda". [That video is embedded in this pancocojams post.]

If I'm incorrect about that pronunciation, please correct me in the comment section below.

I don't believe that there's any fixed (universally agreed upon) meaning for the personal name "Ynairaly" (or for similarly spelled names such as "Nairaly" and "Naiara").

Please share any information that you may have about these names. Thanks!

MY SPECULATION ABOUT THE PERSONAL NAME "YNAIRALY"
(These comments are given in no particular order and are numbered for referencing purposes only.)

1. "Ynairaly" is an example of a "Generation Y" Caribbean name, i.e. a distinctive name that starts with the letter "Y". Ynairaly Simo's mother's name "Ydamys" is also an example of a "Generation Y" Caribbean name.

Here's a quote about Generation Y names in Cuba from http://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2014/02/26/world/social-issues-world/forget-yevgeny-and-yilka-cubas-generation-y-returns-to-roots-for-names/#.WBz-vvkrLcs "Forget Yevgeny and Yilka: Cuba’s ‘Generation Y’ returns to roots for names" Feb. 24, 2014
"HAVANA – Yanitse Garcia has spent three decades correcting people on the pronunciation and spelling of her first name.

[...]

Garcia is part of Cuba’s so-called Generation Y, the thousands upon thousands of islanders born during the Cold War whose parents turned tradition on its ear by giving them invented monikers inspired by Russian names like Yevgeny, Yuri or Yulia. The phenomenon was so prevalent that dissident writer Yoani Sanchez chose “Generation Y” as the title of her well-known blog; her counterpart on the cyber-ideological battlefield is a pro-government blogger and tweeter who uses the handle Yohandry Fontana."...

Another article that is quoted in that post (http://www.newsweek.com/why-cubans-have-such-unusual-names-87959 "Why Cubans Have Such Unusual Names" by Newsweek Staff 8/8/08) indicates that "The trend is not confined to Cuba within Latin America. Female weight lifter Yudelkis Contreras is one of 23 athletes representing the Dominican Republic* in Beijing. And Venezuela's female softball team will include Yaicel Sojo and Yurubi Alicart. "...
-snip-
* The Dominican Republic is a different Caribbean nation than Dominica where Ynairaly Simo's parents come from.  However, this quote suggests that "Ynairaly" and "Ydamys" aren't the only distinctive names in Dominica that start with the letter "Y": https://olympics.com/tokyo-2020/olympic-games/en/results/all-sports/noc-profile-dominica.htm
…"Swimmers Kenneth Maronie and Francilla Agar were part of the Dominican delegation at the 2000 Games in Sydney, but the NOC has been represented solely by competitors in athletics since then. The majority have taken part in sprint events although 800m runner Marie-Lyne Joseph participated at Athens 2004 and triple jumpers Thea Lafond and Yordanys Duranona competed at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro."

3. Google search yields a few results of people with the name "Nairaly". The name "Ynairaly" was probably influenced by the name "Nairaly".

7. The Caribbean use of the name "Ynairaly" or similarly spelled names are probably not influenced by the term "naira" which is a unit of money in Nigeria, West Africa. However, if the names "Ynairaly", "Naiara", and similarly spelled names are used in Nigeria and other parts of West Africa, those names would probably be influenced by the name for Nigeria's unit of money.
