The Portland, Oregon's Protest Frogs Are Multiplying And Are Being Joined By Other Protestors Wearing Whimsical Inflatable Costumes (October 2025)

@oregonian, October 9, 2025

We spent 24 hours at Portland's ICE facility – here's what we saw

The Portland protest frogs are multiplying.

Our reporters at the ICE building Thursday night counted several frogs, a unicorn, a polar bear, an axolotl, a raccoon, a peacock, a shark and a cat among about 100 regularly dressed people.

EXCERPT OF PARKROSE PERMACULTURE'S VIDEO ABOUT PORTLAND'S 2025 PROTEST MOVEMENT

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzXSM-7nhr8 I read THE WORST take on the Portland Protests. Here's what they're getting wrong and why it matters

Parkrose Permaculture, Oct 15, 2025

…"the Portland frog, right? This kid who became famous for showing up in an inflatable frog costume.

By the way, I think Jordan Clipper interviewed him yesterday or today. So, I look forward to seeing

that interview when it comes out. But basically, he showed up at the protest in an inflatable suit. This is

after there have been other folks showing up in chicken suits, Lilo and Stitch outfits, all kinds of silly
costumes. And I'll get into the strategic choice to do that in just a moment. But this video goes viral of a
kid in an inflatable frog suit walking forward and all of these ICE agents and all of their body armor obscuring their identities backing up as this frog walks forward and then they they get onto ice property and he stands there and he just like air humps them for lack of a better term.

[...] Parkrose Permaculture gives her opinion about a recent article that was very critical about these protestors wearing inflatable costumes]

I I hated this article. I hated it.

[…]

[The article’s writer] is absolutely showing her complete and total ignorance of the strategy and tactics, the thoughtfulness, the planning and the efficacy of what Portlanders are doing.

We know that humor and ridicule using absurd tactics, leaning into levity and whimsy, all of that creates a contrast between the brutality, the extremity, the illegality of the regime and the protesters themselves. It also does a fantastic job of undercutting and disproving the lies of the regime.

The regime is claiming that Portlanders are all violent Antifa extremists, domestic terrorists, and that we are waging war, that it's a war zone. It's hell on earth here.

The tactics that we here in Portland are using, starting with kids like that young man in a chicken suit. I
don't know if I can say his real name. I don't know if his name is known. When you dress up in a chicken suit and you hand out cookies, when you wear an inflatable frog costume and you're air
humping ICE.

Us here in Portland being silly and light-hearted and using these tactics, it is pointing out how absolutely absurd, false, unhinged, and completely disconnected from reality the claims of the regime are. Nobody thinks fairies in tutus blowing bubbles, folks playing trumpets in banana suits, guys in chicken suits challenging Kristi Noem to go get a Subway sandwich with him are violent extremists that require the use of the military to restore peace to Portland, Oregon.

The fact that all of that was a big whoosh for this author to me says one, she should go read about
effective non-violent resistance tactics.

The power of the symbols that we are creating, the meaning that we are creating through the strategies that we are using here in Portland, how we are gaining control of the narrative and doing tremendous work to undermine the Regime.

[…]

It it may be going over your head, but the American public understands our strategy here is working incredibly well, and  we'll all be out in the streets on October 18th.”

October 18, 2025 is the date of the second United States nationwide "No Kings" protest rallies.

"Portlanders are just sharing their weird and joy with the world! Given the heaviness of the ICE invasion, this is the antidote to their smothering presence."

"I agree with you and the absurdity of the inflatables versus the “police” is not even lost on my children. Its a bad look for the regime"

"The frog costume is epic!

The article you're referring to was bonkers. The writer was totally out of touch"

"She intimates that there's no message when protesters approach armed thugs in costume? The point is super duper clear. It's getting more press than ANY protest in the past 5 years. Not to mention that it flies in the face of the narrative they're violent, angry rioters. It's an A+ approach"

" "The Frog makes no sense." - Yeah no kidding, that's the whole point. He's a mirror! Do these people know nothing about the finer aspects of political commentary???"

"That frog pelvic thrusting the Goon Squad is about the best thing I've seen since Trump took office. Portland has made a blueprint for all to follow. Keep up the great work."

"Clearly the costumes are working. Maga really wants to see violence, but they don't want to see Ice brutalizing costumes. It makes them look weak. They want us to look menacing so that it fulfills their fantasy. So keep up the bright and festive attire and costumes!"

"Not sure if the people executing this strategy are familiar with the Dada movement of WWI (responding to nonsensical bloodshed and atrocity with absurdity and mockery of the societal norms that allowed it to happen in the first place- an attitude of “if the world has gone mad then so shall we”) but I see the similarities nonetheless and I approve."

"The protesters in Portland are providing a masterclass for the rest of the country on how to do it right! πŸ‘"
