This is Part I of a two part pancocojams series on the "Ribena*" hand clap rhyme.

It is available in bottles, cans and multi-packs. Originally of English origin, it was produced by the pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) until 2013, when the brand was sold to Japanese beverage conglomerate Suntory.

The brand originally had a strong reputation as a healthy product for children, stemming from its distribution to children as a vitamin C supplement during World War II by the British government. "Ribena" is a hand clap rhyme that originated in Great Britain where Ribena soft drinks originated. I'm from the United States and I'm not familiar with Ribena soft drinks or with Ribena hand clap rhymes.

I think that the word "Ribena" is pronounced "rye-BEAN-ah". 

Is this how that word is pronounced?
