*This comment from the discussion thread for the video that is embedded in this pancocojams post speaks to my overarching reason for focusing on that Montgomery, Alabama fight:

@jnwalker44, August 9, 2023, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1gURBEmyj8
"There is far more to this than JUST a disagreement and a fight about a docking space.  The current political climate and history of this racist area played a lot more to this than meets the eye.  The cultural divide in BAMA is greater than you would think in this day and age.

There are LOTS of YouTube videos about that brawl. Both of the videos that I showcased in those previous pancocojams post can now only be viewed on YouTube. This is also the case with the video that is embedded in this post and is likely the case with all of the videos of that brawl that are found on YouTube.

"The fact that this happened in Montgomery, Alabama made it even more historical. Because that state alone is known to still be inhumane towards blk people. I felt that the ancestors came thru to help their descendants out in spirit. Because i know that man had a whole crew of ancestors helping him swing that chair with all the force in spirit. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ‍๐Ÿ’จ

One of the top things from alabama that instantly comes to mind that instantly enrages me when people wanna open their mouths to say what the man did with that chair along with everything else being wrong and unnecessary is them 4 innocent blk girls who got unalived due to a bombing at their church by WS."

"The 16th Street Baptist Church bombing was a terrorist bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama on September 15, 1963 by a white supremacist terrorist group.[1][2][3] Four members of a local Ku Klux Klan (KKK) chapter planted 19 sticks of dynamite attached to a timing device beneath the steps located on the east side of the church.[4]

Described by Martin Luther King Jr. as "one of the most vicious and tragic crimes ever perpetrated against humanity,"[5] the explosion at the church killed four girls and injured between 14 and 22 other people."...

  1. Comment #2 in the YouTube discussion thread given as #2 in this pancocojams post includes the terms "B1" and the term "FBA". Those terms are also found in some other YouTube and in other social media comments/articles.

    "B1" means "Black first"

    https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=B1
"B1=Black First. In other words, Black Empowerment before anything else. This term is used by the New Voices Of Black Media, including The Black Authority and Professor Black Truth.
"We have to approach these politicians with a B1 Agenda. We need policies that will specifically benefit us".

    "FBA" = Foundational Black Americans

Here's some information about Tariq Nasheed, the man who formulated and is the main promoter of the concept of Foundational Black Americans (FBA)

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tariq_Nasheed
"Tariq Allah Nasheed [4][self-published source] is an American film producer, and internet personality.[5][6]

    [...]

    Early life
Nasheed was born in Detroit, Michigan and spent most of his youth in Birmingham, Alabama.[4]

    […]
    Views and reception
Nasheed is known online for his controversial commentary on race.[18] He is a proponent of "Foundational Black Americans" (FBA), an ideology and movement he founded,[19] which is defined as, "any person classified as Black, who can trace their bloodline lineage back to the American system of slavery. To be designated as an FBA, at least one parent must come from a non-immigrant background in The United States of America." ...

    1. Here's some more information about Foundational Black Americans:
https://newsone.com/4375128/foundational-black-americans-explained/ "Foundational Black Americans: Who Are They And What Do They Stand For?"
Foundational Black Americans are descendants of Black slaves who built the United States from scratch.
Written by Shannon Dawson, July 19, 2022
"Over the last year, you may have seen the phrase Foundational Black American (FBA) tossed around the internet thanks to the “World’s #1 Race Baiter,” Tariq Nasheed. In January, during a Twitter Spaces discussion, the controversial media personality sent the buzzword trending when he argued that Black Americans were the originators of the United States. Since then, the polarizing author and documentarian’s belief has attracted millions of supporters from the Black community, many of whom claim they too identify as a Foundational Black American. But what does the term mean exactly?

The History of the Foundational Black American

According to the Official FBA website, Foundational Black Americans are descendants of Black slaves who built the United States from scratch. Followers of the ideology, however, believe that the origins and history of Foundational Black Americans did not begin at the start of slavery in the early 1600s. They strongly believe that FBA’s settled in North America in 1526, when they were allegedly brought over from the Caribbean by a “colonizer” named Lucas Vรกzquez de Ayllรณn.

Ayllรณn and 600 of his men settled on what would later become the South Carolina and Georgia Coast, but they weren’t there for long. The enslaved Black captives organized a successful rebellion against the Spanish colonizers, ultimately forcing them to retreat.

FBA historians believe that the liberated Black people integrated with local Native American tribes in the region and formed their own community and culture as a result."

      [...]

FBA’s don’t believe in the concept of pan-Africanism. They believe they are a unique ethnic group with complex cultural and societal ideologies different from Africans and other Black immigrants. Community members often call those who do not identify with the culture “non-FBAs.”

Some FBA-identifying individuals believe that Africans and other Black immigrant communities do not respect them and their lived experiences throughout history."...

    2. In my opinion (from the outside looking in), the concept and beliefs of Foundational Black Americans are very similar to the concept of ADOS (American Descendants Of Slaves). Some commenters in the YouTube discussion thread for Tariq Nasheed's vlog "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkjgPF6cTiI "Tariq Nasheed: The Difference Between ADOS & FBA",Tariq Radio, Nov. 10, 2019 had very negative opinions of Tariq Nasheed, labeling him a fake and a grifter. Those commenters wrote that Tariq Nasheed formulated the FBA movement as an offshoot of ADOS.

I should also note when I searched for information about FBA.
Google search led me to this ADOS Wikipedia page:
      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Descendants_of_Slavery.

    3. For full disclosure, I don't consider myself a Foundational Black American or an American Descendant Of Slaves in part because I believe in pan-Africanism and in part because it seems to me that ADOS is quite closely aligned with United States Republican policies.

Furthermore, my maternal grandparents are from the Caribbean and I'm only second generation African American on that side. I take it that that would disqualify me from being a FBA if I wanted to be one.

On my paternal side my father was adopted (or long term fostered) by a Black family from Michigan. Therefore, I don't know anything about any enslaved ancestors who I probably had.

I should also note that I don't know any people who consider themselves to be ADOS or FBA and my guess is that few Black people are familiar with those referents.
