I'm not Iranian or Syrian and I have no personal ties to those countries.
However, I am a human being and am sadden by the horrendous tragedy of more than 11,000 people dying as a result of the recent earthquakes in Iran and Syria.
I want to acknowledge my awareness of and my grief over this and other natural tragedies that have occurred in the twelve years that I have published this blog.
I also want to acknowledge my awareness of and grief, anger, and determination to continuing working and praying for justice in the midst of man made tragedies such as the recent killing in the United States of Tyre Nichols and others.
I have not written about these natural tragedies or human caused tragedies since I want to remain true to the mission of this blog which is to showcases the music, dances, language practices, &
customs of African Americans and of other people of Black descent throughout
the world.
I just feel the need to write this.
Keep on keeping on as best that you can.
