PANCOCOJAMS EDITOR'S NOTE
"Eyen O" (also given as "Eyen Eyen O" is an original Nigerian song that was published on YouTube in 2012 by Uddy Samuel, that song's composer and founding member of 6Team. 6Team is the music group that recorded "Eyen O".
I've not located the original lyrics for "Eyen O". However, based on the compser's ethnicity and based on some comments in the YouTube discussion thread for that 2012 video, Ibibio is the language that was used for that song.
Also based on the comments in the discussion thread for the YouTube video of "Eyen O", it appears that although that song is very well known in Nigeria and in other West African nations, a lot of people don't know what the song means. For instance, the Nigerian website https://lekkiloaded.com/6-team-eyen-eyen-o/ by Abobi, April 30, 2021 indicated that "Eyen Eyen O is a love song by Nigerians joint singer better identify as 6 Team, which was released back in 2012. However, the composer of that song explains that ["Eyen O"] "talks about the three wise men who went in search of Jesus Christ not knowing that He was just there lying in the manger." Therefore, "Eyen O" could be considered a Christmas song more than a love song-although Christmas songs can also be love songs.
The fact that "Eyen O" was included in the hit Nigerian movie The Wedding Party" explains why the song "Eyen O" is considered a must have addition to song lists for Nigerian weddings. According to https://www.ibomweddings.com/sixteen-songs-to-play-at-an-ibibio-or-efik-traditional-wedding/ that's particularly the case for Ibibio /Efik weddings (since Ibibio is the ethnic group that the song's composer Uddy Samuel belongs to and the Efik ethnic group is closely related to Ibibios.
Interest in the 2012 (or earlier) Nigerian song "Eyen O" was revived and reinforced since a TikTok dance challenge featuring that song was posted on TikTok in 2021 (and subsequently published on YouTube.) Also, many people throughout the world-including me- are being introduced to this song because of that TikTok compilation and/or the YouTube comments it stimulated.

"And you point is ?.. does it matter if
it's Akwa-Ibom sons or Efik sons that sang the song? U no understand and feel every words in the
song? Why do we always keep creating this constant division of "ooh it's
not Efik . So don't say it's Efik coz it's Akwa-Ibom language " ... oh its
not Ibibio .. it's Efik ".. if na Igbo or Yoruba people song , you will see the Igbos or Yoruba
gather praising how good their language is regardless of the dialect the song
is sang in.. they recognize it as their language & praise it no need for
saying ooh it's not lagos or ibadan Yoruba .. please I'm fed up with this
constant bickering when a song is sang in Ibibio or in Akwa-Ibom dialect and
mistakenly tagged as Efik there's always this constant struggle to dissociate
the Efik from Ibibio. . Why??? Mbok I'm tired .. just appreciate the freaking
damn music after all it would give you say chills whether na Efik, Ibibio,
Annang or Oron person sing aam"

The song “Eyen O” isn’t included on the list of songs for the soundtrack of the 2016 Nigerian movie “The Wedding Party".
However, numerous commenters in YouTube discussion threads for that song indicate that they heard that song in that movie.
I heard this song for the first time in a movie (I'll take my chances starring Ini Edo) and since then this song has lived rent free in my head. I tried searching for it to download but I couldn't. I heard it recently and I searched for eyen yen no on Google and I found it. I couldn't even believe that I could dance to it but I tried. Lol. I'm Igbo by the way but I wouldn't mind dancing to this song even if I don't marry an Efik/Ibibio man. I just loooovvvvveeee this song! I've loved it for the longest❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
