"The closest i ever got to the feeling of real Hip Hop was, when i saw Krs One performing in my Hometown in The Netherlands.      The man was touring with his two sons and let people come to the stage and rap with him. After the show, KRS comes of the stage and started talking with people and giving hands and signatures. I was standing a couple of meters from the man and i thought by my self, this is the teachter and one of the most important souls of H.I.P H.O.P.  I feel blessed and thankfull for that moment!"

We finally stopped to ask and he came right over to us to give us an autograph. I felt so stupid bc all I had was a napkin for him from my take out. He just laughed at me and said “Yo, that’s real” I was so embarrassed but it was awesome and funny at the same time πŸ’•πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£"

"I remember being on the same stage with KRS 1 in Malibu CA at a joint called the Malibu Inn. I was with a group 7Sign Music and we opened for him I think this was in 04 when he was touring for his album Keep Right. The man is The Quintessential MC. I mean he rocked that stage like the true rap masters of old and all of us in my group we’re in complete awe of this icon. KRS had a cypher and everything which we all took advantage of and I mean.. ..just WOW..!!!!!"

"Man.... this brings back memories... this is when the real rap started.  The 80s where the OGs made their mark.  Tupac, BIG, Dre, Jayz, PDiddy, NAS, NWA, Wutang Clan, DMX, Busta Rhymes, Ja Rule, Q-Tip, Method and Redman, Kriss Kross, DMC, and obviously KRS.  I know you probably be thinking this dude miss out on a lot of big names, I said the 80s, not the 90s-2020s.  Obviously probably missed one or two but the big cats are on the list.  Liked and subbed! πŸ‘"

"So here's a story.

I was at a party (we didn't call them raves, but if I'm truthful, that's what it was), it was the late 90's I guess (the timeframe is hard to pin down- the pills get in the way of the flow of time), and I was in central Florida. Run DMC was on the lineup, and so was KRS-One. There were a bunch of Florida breaks DJ's that barely anyone remembers that were prelude for what turned out to be an epic night, both before and after.

Being a dude born in 1974, Run DMC was part of the cloth of hip hop that I was cut from. And KRS was integral to that piece of fabric.

Long story short, Run DMC came on stage and were... Whack. The audience, me, the entirety of central Florida didn't give a f&&k*. I don't know what was going on but they just weren't present that night. Those dudes basically told an entire audience to go to hell and they fled the stage after, I don't know, 3 songs.

And then there was the usual pause between acts.

And then KRS-One hit the stage.

I'm not being facetious when I say that the audience woke up and then turned into a wave of something beautiful. Riding on a mass of something that had been building since long before the 80's. Before anyone knew where Kingsbridge even was. Before hip hop was something that this disheveled JNCO-clad group of gen-x and younger idiots had an idea of. KRS-One hit the whole crowd with a dose of something way more powerful than whatever dubious ingredients that were thrown into the MDMA that was altering their minds. He took all of us on an amazing trip (and I was tripping already, truth be told).

I was a fan before that night. I became a devotee during that show.

This song was part of that.

Hook is good and I know it’s effects but she sounds sexy. But the lyrics are meh....kinda lame. I used to think this was a great song but now idk why I thought that. My cousin bought the cd and this was the only song we ever played on it. At least it wasn’t my money"
