This is Part II of a two part pancocojams series on the Somali song "Isii Nafta" (also known as "I Love You More Than My Life".

I’m Somali - Dutch bc My parents are born in Somalia, but im born and
raised in the Netherlands. Only a few of the Somali aunties and uncles I meet
speak good English. However I do meet many who can speak Arabic to some degree.
I think in Djibouti they’re better at speaking french compared to Somalis with
speaking English"

in Djibouti before 2000 only French language was the official language unlike

official language followed by Arabic but a good number of people speak fluent

the country, Amoud.
In the class no more than 5 students can tell you anything they want in English, also medium language of teaching is 20% English, and remaining 80% is Somali based on student ability."

you find many people who speak perfect English and many of them are returnees
from refugee camps in Kenya some of them have degrees, masters and they were
taught from primary to university in English so you find schools in Kismanyo
Gedo Barawe Muqdisho teachers teaching English with correct accent or perfect
pronunciation

why many Somali boys win international Quranic recitation competitions easily,
