"Kaybee I know that, being tamed/domesticated doesn't mean an animal can't go rogue. Humans, dogs, bulls and cats can go rogue EVEN when domesticated. These lions are tamed in a sense of them being raised by/with this specific human. That's what I'm saying, they didn't stumble upon him when they were fully grown and wild."

"@Colby Mackells huh? Chicago or Joburg? You probably thinking of M13s? Xenophobic attacks was one dangerous and stupid thing for all of us, and believe me, the sane people…we’re in majority! You can’t fear the US because of the many white supremacy gangs like the ones that came to the fore during Trump’s madness Americans called a presidency! Every place has its issues but for the most part, SA is a very cool place. Remember Joburg is a melting pot of most of not all nationalities from the continent and beyond, so the clashes for territory and jobs are bound to be there! They’re also most likely to follow identity and what distinguishes all the people would be nationality, color or skin, then tribe and so on! That’s stupid but it’s a fact. Johannesburg is the richest city in Africa so everyone here is here for the money, clashes would be there if one group feels sidelined. That doesn’t mean I agree but I’m only giving perspective and context!!!"

Thanks for visiting pancocojams.
Visitor comments are welcome.
Two of the comments in this compilation include the word "ubuntu". Here's an explanation in English about that term from
ReplyDeletehttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubuntu_philosophy:
"Ubuntu (Zulu pronunciation: [ΓΉΙΓΊntΚΌΓΉ])[1] is a Nguni Bantu term meaning "humanity". It is sometimes translated as "I am because we are" (also "I am because you are"),[2] or "humanity towards others" (in Zulu, umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu). In Xhosa, the latter term is used, but is often meant in a more philosophical sense to mean "the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity".[3]"...
Two comments (#71 & #72) in this pancocojams compilation of that Mansa Mayne vlog's discussion thread refer to "Twang".
ReplyDeleteComments #128 to #136 in the earlier pancocojams post about Mansa Mayne https://pancocojams.blogspot.com/2021/12/african-american-youtube-vlogger-mansa.html also refers to "Twang!".

Deletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inPHd4xP1ik&ab_channel=PwettyPlease
Here are two comments from that video's discussion thread:
NMC, 2020
"Not gonna lie, I believed twanging as people tryna sound white. Im coloured and don't have the generic SA coloured accent.. I've been told I sound white.. And those same people said its twanging.. You're the first I hear that says twanging sounds kinda like slay queens.. Lol it's interesting.."
-snip-
Read my comment below for some explanations about the term "Coloured" in South Africa and the term "slay queens" in some parts of Africa.
Click https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coloureds for information about the racial referent "Coloured" in South Africa. Here's the first sentence from that page: "Coloureds (Afrikaans: Kleurlinge or Bruinmense, lit. 'Brown people') are a multiracial ethnic group native to Southern Africa who have ancestry from more than one of the various populations inhabiting the region, including Khoisan, Bantu, European, Austronesian, South Asian, or East Asian."...

Here are excerpts from two online posts about the term "slay queens":
https://www.dictionary.com/e/slang/slay/
"WHAT DOES SLAY MEAN?
Yaaaaaas! Slay, queen!
Slay can mean “to kill a person or animal,” “to make someone laugh,” “to have sex with someone,” or “to do something spectacularly well,” especially when it comes to fashion, artistic performance, or self-confidence.
...in black, Latinx, queer ball culture in the 1970–80s, slaying definitely came to refer to when an outfit, hair, makeup, dance moves, and attitude were all flawless. It’s a metaphor: One is “killing it” with their stunning self and style.
...In an interesting twist, slay queen has become slang for a vain, vapid, gold-digging woman in Kenya."...
****
https://www.legit.ng/1141152-what-slay-queen-meaning.html
What is the "slay queen" meaning? Friday, July 27, 2018 by Kay Kolesnik
"These days many people in Africa, especially in Nigeria and Kenya, use the term “slay queen” to describe a woman who likes to show off her luxurious lifestyle even if she lives in the poorest neighborhood and struggles to stay on her feet."...
appreciate this, Azizi
