ARTICLE EXCERPTS ABOUT THE ROCK & GROOVE COMPILATION RECORD
Excerpt #1
From  http://caribbeantoday.com/entertainment/item/28131-jamaica-s-leading-female-voices-unite-on-rock-groove-riddim.html
"2019, a landmark year that will be remembered as a groundbreaking time for women in Jamaican music, comes to an epic climax today with the release of the Rock & Groove riddim compilation. Sevana, Naomi Cowan, Jaz Elise, and Lila Iké, four of the island’s most in-demand artists, have joined forces over a bouncy new rhythm, accompanied by dub versions, produced by GRAMMY-nominated Protoje and J Vibe. Rock & Groove Riddim is rooted in a half-century tradition of Jamaican riddim compilations that feature a variety of voices bringing their own flavor to the same beat.

The seminal project is available now via In.Digg. Nation Collective, the record label and management company founded by Proteje and home to artists like Lila Iké and Servana."...

Excerpt #2
From
https://www.reggae-vibes.com/reviews/2019/12/various-rock-groove-riddim/
..."Rock & Grove Riddim

Altough one might think this is a relicked riddim of the Bunny Wailer song, it’s actually the enduring foundation dancehall riddim from Michael Prophet’s 1980 scorcher “Gunman” that was a partial inspiration for this “Rock & Groove” riddim from In.Digg.Nation Collective. This project, produced by GRAMMY-nominated Jamaican artist Protoje and Jason “J Vibe” Farmer is rooted in a half-century tradition of Jamaican riddim compilations that feature a variety of voices bringing their own flavor to the same backdrop. Each track across this stellar ‘rub a dub’ riddim has its own merit and explores diverse, universal themes: communication in relationships by sweet, sultry and soulful songstress Sevana; self-love and confidence by young budding artist Jaz Elise; unconditional love by the vibrant Naomi Cowan; and finding motivation in one’s muse by the energetic sounding Lila Iké. The four downright bone-chilling dub counterparts, with vocals going in and out of the mix, are the icing on the cake."...

(Note that this commenter and -it appears from other comments-most other commenters don't know that in 2019 these individual vocalists released a group album with the same name as the this BBC radio 1Xtra concert "Rock & Groove".

Here's an explanation about the Jamaican music term "rub a dub" from https://jamaicanpatwah.com/term/Rub-a-dub/2769#.Xyq1_ChKi1s
"Rub-A-Dub" or "Rub-A-Dub Style" is one the genres created during the passage between Reggae and Dancehall and was invented between the end of the 70s and the beginning of the 80s. The term "Rub-a-Dub" comes from a dance style where the man and woman rubs up very close together and grind their hips to the beat."...- Greenllabel, march 1, 2017
