Counts are still coming in but apparently 7 million, as of 4pm East, have participated in this No Kings Day...

7 million people is approximately 2.04% of the total U.S. population.

3.5% protest rule is a concept in political science suggesting that if 3.5% of a population is mobilized in sustained, non-violent protest, it becomes nearly impossible for a regime to ignore their demands for major political change. The figure originated from the research of political scientist Erica Chenoweth, but subsequent analysis has added important context and caveats to the statistic. The population of the United States is approximately 347.3 million as of mid-2025, which is about 4.22% of the world's population. The U.S. is the third most populous country globally and has the highest population in the Americas"

We are in our 80s and we’re driving for lunch for our anniversary and our little town in NW WA had the streets lined with hundreds of people. They were waving the pease sign to us and made us so proud!!! Love and light to the world and our light workers like yourself Libby."

Libby, In Vista, Califronia which is a small town about 45 minutes north of San Diego, we had 1200 people. How do I know? I bought 1000 flags and handed them out - was a way to count and a way to piss of Mike Johnson. I'm taking back our flag.  All of us should.

Guys I also recommend that you get a speaker and get everyone to sing Imagine by John Lennon and School House Rock Preamble. I wish I had a speaker or some way of doing that."

That’s incredible! 🌍✨ The reach of the *No Kings movement* is truly global—seeing solidarity from countries across Europe, North America, and even Japan is powerful.

It really shows that the message of standing against authoritarianism resonates far beyond the U.S. borders. Each of these nations taking part highlights a shared commitment to democracy and human rights.

 **No Kings solidarity countries by continent**:

*Brazil

* Portugal

* Spain

* Netherlands

Switzerland

Zurich

* Norway

* Sweden

* Belgium

* Czech Republic

* Denmark

* Finland

* France

* Germany

* Italy

* Ireland

* United Kingdom

*North America:*

* Canada

* Mexico

* Costa Rica

South Korea

Northern marinara islands

* Japan

This really highlights that the movement has strong backing across *Europe**, with additional support in **North America* and **Asia**. 🌎"

It was so exciting! We protested in downpours of rain and lightning (ran to car while that happened) in a red county, in a red state. We had several thousand people there, which is quite a bit for the county I live in plus the increment weather. Most of us were all in our 70's - 80's, in walkers and wheelchairs. But we did it proud! I only saw one young person which was disappointing."

So much fun…I’m actually in Orange County about 30 miles south of LA. I decided to leave early to find parking and get some breakfast. I had so much time on my hands, I stopped enroute at Cherry Park in Long Beach as that party was starting much earlier. Just so happened to see myself in Dr. Lisa Vest’s video! Hahaha! I had no idea she was there. Very cool! LA is on FIRE!! (Not literally, haha)"

Hi Libby. I attended the No Kings protest in my small town in the PNW of Port Angeles, Wa. today and it was glorious to be part of it! I'm disabled and a bit agoraphobic, so it was difficult to talk myself into attending. A good friend encouraged me to go, or I'd wind up regretting it.

I went by myself and met a few kind, like-minded people. One friendly fellow loaned me an extra sign to hold while he waited for his friend to arrive. Another really nice guy gave me an old umbrella, and he told me it was originally from NY city and once belonged to an un-named famous artist who lived in NY city. It was lightly raining, so I was more than happy to receive it. I thanked him and he'd disappeared into the crowd before I could talk to him some more. All in all, it was a great time hanging out with people who all feel the same about the criminal regime squatting in our nations capitol, stealing from us and harming our fellow Americans and our immigrant folks"

I’m from Chicago and often drive up to Wisconsin to do trail running…I did just that this weekend to see the fall colors. Every time I go, it’s one Trump sign after another. Today, I drove over 400 miles thru the state, and saw NOT. ONE. SIGN. I did see a protest in a town with a population of 364, complete w lawn chairs and signs, waving to cars passing by. (I stopped at their farmers market, bought a bunch of apple cider donuts and went back to join them for an hour. Great folks!!)   In another town, I saw an ice cream shop handing out “No King Kones.”   I saw young people driving down the interstate, windows open, music blaring, w “No Kings!” written across the back window.

I had pride in the American people today."

    Heather Cox Richardson, October 18, 2025 https://www.youtube.com/post/Ugkx-fgFd7GM7lsJ-C5BV2hR3ORi-_FbvAUM
    "Today, millions of Americans and their allies turned out across the United States and around the globe to demonstrate their commitment to American democracy and their opposition to a president and an administration apparently bent on replacing that democracy with a dictatorship.

    Administration loyalists tried to claim the No Kings protests would be “hate America” rallies of “the pro-Hamas wing and Antifa people.” Texas governor Greg Abbott deployed the Texas National Guard ahead of the No Kings Day protests, warning that “[v]iolence and destruction will never be tolerated in Texas.”

    In fact, protesters turned out waving American flags and wearing frog and unicorn and banana costumes and carrying homemade signs that demanded the release of the Epstein files and defended Lady Liberty. They laughed and danced and took selfies and sang. City police departments, including those of New York City, San Diego, and Washington, D.C., said they had made no protest-related arrests.

    In Oakland, California, Mother Jones senior editor Michael Mechanic interviewed a man named Justin, asking him if, as a Black man, he had particular concerns about the actions of the Trump administration.

    Justin answered: “You know…a lot of times I have a hopeless feeling, but…being out here today just reminds me about the beauty of America and American protests. And, you know, the fact that they tried to…stomp on this, step on this, you know, say it’s non-American, because that’s what I’ve been reading a lot about. No, this is the point of America right here: to be able to have this opportunity to protest…. [This] does not look like Antifa, Hamas, none of this stuff that they’re talking about…. [Y]ou know, this is the beauty of America.”

    The No Kings demonstrations ran the gamut from hundreds of thousands of protesters in large, blue cities, to smaller crowds in small towns in Republican-dominated states. Together, they demonstrate that the administration’s claims to popularity are a lie. Such a high turnout means businesses and institutions that thought they must cater to the administration to appeal to a majority of Americans will be forced to recalculate.

    And the protests showed that Americans care fervently about democracy."...
