On March 1, 2014 I wrote this information about this song in a file I keep for Gospel music:
I just read this information from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Roberta_Martin_Singers
"[Roberta] Martin also began to team up with a young James Cleveland, who composed songs for the group such as "I'm Determined" (1953)"

BASIC LYRICS* - I'M DETERMINED TO RUN THIS RACE
(Rev. James Cleveland)

I'm determined
To run this race.
I'm determined
To see my Master's face.
I'm determined
For whenever I'm in doubt
I know
The Lord
Will bring me out.

I'm determined
Whenever everything goes wrong
I’m determined
To still keep on singing my song
I’m so determined
To make it in
Ooh-oh
Ooh-oh-o

Yes!
I’m determined
Though billows may roll
I’m determined
Because Jesus keeps my soul
I’m determined
Because if I don’t have a friend
I know He will be there till the end

I said I’m determined
mother
I’m still determined, mother
to keep righting all my wrongs

I said I’m so determined
To make it in.
Ooh-oh
Ooh-oh-o

I’m determined
I said I’m determined
Here's all is lies
Because Jesus still will provide
I’m so determined
To make it in
Ooh-oh
Ooh-oh-o

*I transcribed this basic transcription from the recording that is showcased in this pancocojams post.
By "basic lyrics" I mean the words that the soloist sings without some of her vocalizations or exclamations such as "Yes!" and without the harmonizing and/or responsive words or vocalizations that are sung by the other singers. Additions and corrections are welcome.

  1. I remember "The Spiral Chorus" singing this song in the early 1960s at Union Baptist Temple Church, Atlantic City, New Jersey. The Spiral Chorus was the church choir that my mother was a part of since it was the young adult choir until the members were no longer young.

This Gospel song (especially the first verse) has stayed with me ever since I first heard it and has helped give me determination to make make it through difficult times. It just popped into my head (again) tonight and I was surprised that I couldn't find the lyrics to this song online. Please help correct this transcription. Thanks!

*Here's the words I sing like an affirmation:
    "I'm determined
    To run this race.
    I'm determined
    To see my Master's face.
    I'm determined
    For when I'm in doubt
    I know
    The Lord
    Will bring me out."

I'm glad to kinda know the rest of the words for this song.

Please help with this transcription. Thanks!
