This is Part I of a two part pancocojams post about the Mississippi Mass Choir's rendition of the Gospel song "This Morning when I Rose" * This pancocojams post showcases a YouTube video of the Mississippi Mass Choir's rendition of that song. I believe that that title is a mistake since the lyrics that are sung are "This morning when I rose" and other online examples of that song have those words and not "When I Rose This Morning". The caption at the beginning of this YouTube video indicates that Jerry Smith is the composer of this song. I haven't come across any information about that composer and I haven't come across any date that this song was composed. I also haven't come across any information about when this video was made. "So true, a lot of people are so busy looking you up and down like you're dirt because you don't have on a Hugo Boss suit, or an Evening gown, meanwhile God, says come as you are!!! So many churches have lost members, and perspective new members because of this. Shame.

Once I had a deacon tell me that I ahould sit it the back because I was not "appropriately dressed". I looked at him and said " I will sit where I want, because God, does not care how I am dressed".
