Commenters Compare Black Republican Congressman Byron Donalds To Stephen From The Django Movie & Other Uncle Toms

Byron Donalds (R-FL), accusing the congressman of lying on air. Boykin, a former White House aide to Bill Clinton, clashed with Donalds on NewsNight With Abby Phillip, alleging that Donalds was making false claims about crime increasing under President Joe Biden. The pair started trading barbs after watching a clip of Donald Trump calling for “one rough hour” to end crime. Phillip asked Donalds if Trump was “suggesting that cops can do whatever they want for a day and that will actually solve the problem?” “No, he’s not,” Donalds answered. “And even the clip you just played was five seconds out of, for Donald Trump, an hour speech. I think a lot of times people say, ‘Oh well, he said this.’ For five seconds? Yes, he says things that are unscripted, he goes off the cuff. He’s not serious. There’s no policy behind that.” Boykin pushed back. “Donald Trump has a history of saying inflammatory things,” he said, addressing Donalds. “It’s not just those five seconds congressman, and you know that.” The pair then started squabbling about violent rhetoric, with Boykin telling Donalds he wished the congressman would “have the courage to stand up to your dear leader and tell him when he’s doing wrong.” Donalds hit back by asking if they would talk about “the rhetoric directed at Donald Trump” in light of the two apparent assassination attempts he’s survived. They clashed again soon after when Phillip asked Donalds how Trump’s call for a “rough hour” wasn’t violent rhetoric. “We have to acknowledge the reality going on in every city in America,” Donalds said, with Boykin cutting in to say he wasn’t answering the question. “That is answering the question,” Donalds continued, “Because the reality in America—hold on Keith—the reality in America is that crime is massively up.” At that point, Boykin’s patience snapped. My name is Reese Waters and I'm troubled". This introduction is a play on the words "God gonna trouble the water" from the African American Spiritual "Wade In The Water". Episodes of Reese Waters' YouTube channel consists of Waters sitting in a room wearing informal clothing, conversing with an unseen person and with his video audience. In each episode Reese Waters shares his opinion about a particular targeted person and/or current event that involves and/or impact Black Americans. Most of the people targeted are Black Americans. Waters also intersperses his comments in these episodes with pertinent video clips about that person and/or event. Among the recurring features in Reese Waters' channel are "Racist of the Week" and "Racist Of The Month". Reese Waters' quick witted levity and insights are purposely shared mostly using contemporary African American Vernacular English words, phrases, and sayings. Waters also purposely uses African American cultural references in his commentaries. I believe that the opinions that Reese Waters conveys in these commentaries are widely held by Black Americans. Reese Waters' episodes are also interspersed with short video clips of the person or people and events along with his witty and insightful comments about those clips which help prove the points that he is making in those episodes. In each episode of Reese Waters' video, the room where he is videotaping has a chair with a professional sports jersey draped on its back. That jersey changes with each episode as it features the last name and number of a past of current notable Black professional football player or professional basketball player from the city that is or was associated with that particular episode. What you're calling abortion is more correctly called reproductive health care, and no matter how you slice it, the government should absolutely not be involved in a decision that should be made between a woman and her health care provider. We've already seen the loss of two lives in Georgia because women couldn't access life-saving procedures after they'd miscarried. Most miscarriages occur in the first trimester, and they're not always complete. That's when medical intervention is required. If someone supports a candidate who would prevent medical intervention, that person isn't pro-life, they're pro-death.

Third, I don't expect the POTUS to do anything for me specifically, but generally a candidate with a policy to offer down-payment assistance to first-time homeowners and small business owners ought to be very attractive to black folks and especially black women who are the largest number of new entrepreneurs in America. Anyway, it's the job of our local and state governments to "do something for us" since they're the levels of government closest to us. We can't just vote once every four years and expect things to change in our favor.

And speaking of voting once every four years, I'd crawl to the polls to vote against a candidate who has said publicly he'd be a dictator "just for the first day" and that if he wins, "we'll fix it so good you'll never have to vote again." I like my voting rights just fine, and I'm not going to give that orange criminal a chance to take them away. The choice is clear for me: I can vote for the continuation of democracy and the rights of all Americans, or I can vote for autocracy and The Handmaid's Tale."
