*The musical tributes to states is a feature of the ceremonial state roll call that the Democratic National Convention introduced this year (2024). For all of the states except Georgia, these musical tributes were led by DJ Cassidy and featured a song or songs that was recorded by an artist from that state, or a song or songs that referenced or are associated with that state. Georgia's musical tribute was led by Atlanta, Georgia rapper Lil Jon. A number of commenters wrote that Georgia rapper "showed up and showed out".

"DJ Cassidy was awesome! He selected songs that represented each state. Georgia--you guys took the roll call to another level!! This is the first convention that has ever incorporated a DJ and music during roll call. It made it so engaging. It was awesome hearing why each state were casting their delegates for Harris-Waltz. As well as, giving a bit of their states historical accomplishments and citing names of famous folks from their state. This was one of the most electric Conventions I have ever witnessed!!! VOTE BLUE!!!!!"

"When I tell you that roll call was LIT! Y'all , we literally had a MAESTRO (in DJ Cassidy) playing tribute music to each state with a song or artist that has meaning for the people of that state, and Georgia TURNED IT UP AND TURNED IT OUT. Then, when they ended roll call with California's vote and VP Harris appeared onscreen from a PACKED ARENA 90 miles away, giving media outlets a split screen of her with 2 packed houses??? I know the GOP's collective heads were exploding from envy!!! The 2024 DNC has pioneered change in the way roll calls will be done for national conventions for years to come. Oh well, the GOP still has Kid Rock, I guess.

I hope you saw the Obama’s speeches. They were FANTASTIC ️🇺🇸. No, the RNC did not do it like the DNC. RNC only has Kid Rock & Hulk Hogan ."
