WORDS TO THIS HAND CLAP GAME
[Begin the hand clap motions while saying:
Avocado, avocado is the name of the game
If you mess up, I get to change your name.

[Recite the alphabet fast and if you mess up, your partner gives you a name that begins with that letter. If your partner messes up, you get to give her a name that begins with that letter.

My ten year old granddaughter Jaiya Hughes, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania shared with me that she and her friends play "Avocado" and some other hand clap games* during recess at her school. If someone messes up, their partner changes their name and she has to use that new name for the rest of that school day.

Click https://schoolyardplay.net/avocado-clapping-game/ Avocado, posted by Schoolyardplay, February 3, 2020 for additional versions of the words to "Avocado" hand clapping rhymes. Those words are basically the same as the words that are given above.

*The three other hand clap games that Jaiya mentioned she and her friend playing were "Concentration", "Miss Mary Mack", and "Lemonade Crunchy Ice". I asked her did they play "Miss Susie Had A Steamboat" and she said "No".

This is the earliest date for any YouTube video of the Avocado hand clap game that I have come across.

I'm curious if anyone remembers the Avocado rhyme before 2018. If so, please share that information along with the words in the comment section below. Don't forget to add when (year) you first heard or played this rhyme and when you lived (city, state if in the United States or country if outside of the United States) Thanks!
