This pancocojams post presents comments from a sub-thread of the discussion thread of a 2023 South African music video that list types of dance music that Africans and people from the African Diaspora have created. A few other comments from that sub-thread are also included in this post.
(Full disclosure- I couldn't resist the opportunity to add a comment to this discussion thread.)

Pancocojams Editor's Note- I haven't included all of the comments from this sub-thread because they are frequently posted repeats of previous comments (such as "Jamaica gave us Reggae").
I also haven't included comments that debate when a particular music genre (such as Hip Hop) was created. Nor have I included comments that argue about who actually created it (such as comments that contend that or dispute whether Reggae contributed to Hip Hop).
Numbers are added for referencing purposes only.

"@danielmuderhwa2451 wrote "Black Americans gave us hip
hop and most genres". As an African American, here's some of "other
genres" besides Hip Hop (I am limiting this list to dance music which seems to
be what the other commenters did- and given in no particular historical order:
-Blues (particularly Jump Blues & Boogie Woogie)
-Jazz (including swing)
-Rhythm & Blues (including a lot of sub-genres such as
Doo-Wop, Disco, Soul, & Neo-Soul, and soul line dance songs such as
"Cha Cha Slide" and "Wobble" that I think are a mix of
R&B/Hip Hop)
-Funk (including Washington D.C. Go Go music)
and
-House music
Also, Hip Hop music has sub-genres such as Southern Bass,
Bounce, and Jigga music.
I'm sure I've missed
other dance genres that African Americans created or contributed to their
creation such Folk music (Black Americans were the ones who added callers for
square dancing), & we contributed and continue to contribute to the
creation of United States Pop music and United States Country music. "
