This post showcases four YouTube videos: a video about research on this rhyme that was done by Tim Scott, two animated videos of a version of "Jingle Bells Batman Smells" that was featured on The Simpsons animated television series, and one animated video of a version of this rhyme that was featured on Batman: The Animated Series. The "Jingle Bell Batman Smells" rhyme that is chanted in those particularly clips is given under those videos. Tim Scott's survey of this rhyme provides some documentation that the popularity of The Simpsons resulted in the replacement of the line "Robin flew away" with the line "Robin laid an egg" in the Jingle Bells Batman Smells" rhymes, particularly in the United States. However, that theory is weakened by the anecdotal accounts given by a number of commenters from the United States who remember chanting the "Robin laid an egg" line long before the 1993 Simpsons episode Tim Scott focused on (or the same line in the first Simpsons show in 1989 and in a 1992 episode of Batman: The Animated Series.
