-snip-
A lot of comments in this discussion thread credit Big Ivy, the Ghanaian rapper throwing shade (dissed Nigeria) about their erratic electrical system as being what (they believe) was how she won that rap battle.

What NEPA means: fromhttps://africasacountry.com/2019/04/the-nigerian-electricity-story/ The Nigerian electricity story by Vivian Chenxue Lu
“The erratic electricity supply in Nigeria is a metaphor for life there.

In Nigeria, the acronym NEPA famously has two possible meanings. The first is what it was originally meant to designate, the National Electric Power Authority. (Blackouts are often met with the exclamation: “NEPA has taken the light!”). The second popular interpretation is that NEPA stands for Never Expect Power Always.”…hrases-you-need-to-know/

"This was so funny. Big ups to Ghana and Nigeria. But it think Cameroon should not have entered this battle, her lyrics were so vulgar πŸ™„ and it did not make sense at all. Please go and sit down for one side. Naija and Ghana know how we deal with each other. The winner is definitely Mama Ghana ( I am Nigerian), her lyrics are so funny."

Omo mummy dollarz killed it jare and big ivy. But big ivy na original rapper i swear πŸ˜€ una too much. Watching from nigeria"
-snip-
In the context of this comment, the Nigerian Pidgin English word "jare" has the second meaning that is given in this definition: https://www.quora.com/What-does-Jare-mean-in-Nigeria; written by Olusegun Adewusi, 2020
‘Jare', pronounced ‘ jah-reh ‘ has its roots in the Yoruba language in Nigeria.

  1. It means innocent, justified, blameless. For example ‘Emi ni mo jare ‘ means ‘ Iam the innocent party'
  2. It is also used to lay emphasis on a given sentence. It's also used to add emphasis on a given instruction , but without any malicious intent . For example ‘ fi mi sile , jare’ means ‘leave me alone, please ‘

Cameroon mum took it to a next level with better rap bars, flow but video look cheap where as  Nigeria and Ghana mum have a really nice looking video clip quality. So in conclusion: First(1)- Cameroon, (2)-Nigeria (3)-Ghana. CREDIT TO all the mums really fun concept"

Zomgirien, 2020 [Regarding the Twi word "paa"] "It’s to add emphasis to whatever your saying. So “ekom di mi” is I’m hungry. “Ekom di mi paa” is Im REALLY hungry. Sometimes you might even see/hear “papaaapa” which is really heavy emphasis. "
