Maybe it is the culture in Asia I dont know but here it isnt so its a normal reaction for the kid and the mother I would reacted the same but im sick and tired of everyone dragging race in it"

"@BLESSY'S WORLD no...maybe in your culture, but stop imposing your culture's idiosyncrasies over others.
Even in my country people pick little kids and kids are habitual.
If a kid from other culture is not habitual and cries, then the right thing to do is simply put them down as they are in some other country and not vice versa...so people will follow their culture not someone elses....
So nothing wrong here....
It has nothing to do with politeness
For eg:In america it is considered rude to eat from someone else's plate without asking, but in India it is pretty common and is considered good....
Idiosyncrasies are not equal to politeness."

" @BLESSY'S
WORLD sometimes in China, people fondle
your kid or give a hug to show a compliment that they like your kids. For sure,
the lady should be aware of culture difference. Unfortunately she did not. But
we also should not over interpret the gesture. She did not mean to hurt your
kid."

"For those of you who are shocked that a stranger
picked up the child: You have to remember that other countries are not the US.
I'm American living in France. It is not at all uncommon for women to pick up
babies or kiss them. It's not even uncommon to talk to children you don't know.
I was shocked at first but realized that not everywhere is like the US. By the
way, thank you for this wonderful video."

Unfortunately, in the English language there is no other noun to describe

"@jas s The U.S. simply calls their citizens "Americans". If you are from Canada
you are Canadians, If you are from Mexico you are Mexicans, from Brazil you are
Brasilian ext... If you grew up in the U.S. then you are called an American. If
you have an "American passport" you are from the U.S. Even in
language class (french) they say You are American if you are from the U.S. Je
suis Americaine so other countries refer to U.S. citizens as American citizens.
When I travel to Europe they will ask "are you american and they mean from
the U.S." If someone refers to an American solider, that means they are
from the U.S. ext.... and so on....That's the reality"
