This summary doesn't identify the bride and groom or name the city where it was filmed. However, this video was probably filmed in the United States as online information for film maker/editor Sondasi Luundo indicates that he resides in Buffalo, New York. His Facebook page also indicates that he is from Kalamie, Democratic Republic of the Congo.

I just published this pancocojams post about weddings and wedding parties (receptions) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo: https://pancocojams.blogspot.com/2021/10/congolese-weddings-congolese-wedding.html. I published that post because I became fascinated with YouTube videos of Congolese wedding reception entrance dances such as those that are showcased in this pancocojams post.
ReplyDeleteAll of the videos that I've watched on YouTube of Congolese wedding reception dances appear to have been filmed in the United States. I'm curious whether wedding entrance dances were/are a custom in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
After reading the article that is excerpted in the pancocojams post whose link is given above, I'm still not sure whether or not the kinds of entrance dances that are showcased in that post are done in the Congo or if those dances that were filmed in the United States are a Congolese-American adaptation of Congolese wedding reception dances or are newly made practices.
I'd love to hear from someone about this.
