PANCOCOJAMS EDITOR'S NOTE
There are lots of comments in the discussion thread for the official YouTube music video "Getting Late" which compare South African singer Tyla with (White American) Pop singer Ariana Grande. This post documents a selection of those comments.

Some commenters wrote that Tyla is the "Coloured Ariana Grande". The word "Colored" means something different in South Africa than it does in the United States. Here's information about the South African meaning of the word "Coloured":
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coloureds
"Coloureds (Afrikaans: Kleurlinge or Bruinmense, lit. "Brown people") are a multiracial ethnic group native to Southern Africa who have ancestry from more than one of the various populations inhabiting the region, including Khoisan, Bantu, European, Austronesian, East Asian or South Asian. Because of the combination of ethnicities, different families and individuals within a family may have a variety of different physical features.[7][8] Coloured was a legally defined racial classification during apartheid.[8][9]

In the Western Cape, a distinctive Cape Coloured and affiliated Cape Malay culture developed. In other parts of Southern Africa, people classified as Coloured were usually the descendants of individuals from two distinct ethnicities. Genetic studies suggest the group has the highest levels of mixed ancestry in the world."...
