"I legit was laughing out loud throughout this video. Ling is so cute in her determination not to say the statement Lamb want to recite; which roughly translates to admitting she is sometimes stubborn and that she pledges to stop being stubborn from today.

Instead of saying " I go dey hear word", she said "I no go dey hear word", which is opposite of what Lamb was trying to trick her in pledging.πŸ˜‚"

"Watching this was so refreshingπŸ˜‚. But Lamb you need to start from the core basics. Just like teaching English, you have to start from single words used commonly in conversations like (una, go, dey, e, be, sabi, no, die, sebi, abi, ba, kukuma, abeg, wahala)  also conjunctions like (say, ein) then you can graduate to complex sentences keeping in mind that Pidgin has its own unique grammatical  structure and takes in many words from Nigerian languages while neglecting certain english verbs like 'is, are'

For instance  'where are you from' translates to 'where you from come'.

Moreover she has to discard her American accent for learning purposes, what is burrurr abeg?" πŸ˜‚

  1. I wrote that I wasn't going to add any translation of Nigerian Pidgin in this post, but since this is the comment section, here's a few translations of some of the words/phrases
from https://www.britishcouncil.org/voices-magazine/nigerian-pidgin-words-phrases Nigerian Pidgin – 20 useful words and phrases By Mimi Werna, 22 April 2020

    "How you dey?
This is pidgin for 'How are you?' With friends, you can also say:

    How na?
    How far/body?
    You can respond by saying:

    I dey (I am fine)

I dey Kampe (I am doing well)"

    [...]

    Abeg
    This simply means 'Please.'

You could say, 'Abeg come chop food' which is an invitation to a meal. It means ‘Please, come and join me.’

    [...]

    Wetin?
    This means 'What?'

While wetin dey happen?' means 'What is going on?'"...]

Here's another article that provides standard English meanings for Nigerian Pidgin, including the "how far" saying: https://theculturetrip.com/africa/nigeria/articles/15-nigerian-pidgin-english-phrases-you-need-to-know/

    "How far (“Hello/How is everything?”)
This common greeting means ‘How is everything?’. A marker of camaraderie between Nigerians, it is a simple, informal greeting that’s best used with people you know well, or in casual settings. The verb at the end is often dropped, so beware: if someone asks you How far?, they aren’t referring to your journey to meet them."...
