OFFICIAL LYRICS FOR "WE'VE COME THIS FAR BY FAITH"
We've come this far by faith
Leaning on the LORD
Trusting in His Holy Word
He never failed me yet
Oh' can't turn around
We've come this far by faith
(Repeat)
Don't be discouraged
when trouble comes into your life
He will bear your burdens
And remove all our misery and strife
And that's why
Chorus
Just the other day
I heard a man say
He didn't believe in God words
But I can truly say the lord will make a way
because He, He's never failed me yet.
Chorus

"This was the song the senior choir of Sabathini
Baptist church of Minneapolis used to march in to - led by Nellie Lightfoot.
Devotions really prepared you for worship-prayers were said from the heart, not
read from a piece of paper or asking for material things, but for a clean heart
and right spirit. We came to praise the Lord, not perform. It is time for those
who love the Lord let it be known that church is not for show"

"This takes me back to my childhood & our little
Missionary Baptist Church Gospel Choir marching in on Sunday Mornings in their
robes... it was a community. The Grand Days when the pews were filled with
entire families and you saw your neighbors. You looked forward to hearing the
next selection from the choir and the preacher was filled with passion and
there was clapping and foot stomping tambourine playing and someone would hop
on the organ... oh my to hear someone play that organ. Yes... We’ve Come This
Far By Faith... this is definitely appropriate & fitting for 2020 New Years
Eve!! HAPPY NEW YEARππ½☮️π―π¦"

"I just scrolled past some of the comments after
posting and noticed several people commenting on how wonderfully the young man
sang and then on the next hand made a judgment about his appearance/ and or
size & health. Life Lessons have taught me things are not always that
simple... also a person personal journal is just that... PERSONAL π―π―π―
This young man’s situation may be quite complicated and weight issues usually
are... possibly intertwined with medical conditions. May I humbly submit that
we tread cautiously when posting about a person’s appearance and just deliver
our compliments and leave our unsolicited suggestions when we are asked. I Wish
You All A Joyful, Safe, Happy, Loving,Prosperous &Blessed New Yearππ½☮️π―π¦"

They NEVER sings the verse after the chorus which is in the hymn."

"Yes, that's right, Albert Goodson (composer) wrote two (2) verses, if you listen to the original recording by 'The Voices of Hope' - directed by Thurston Frasier, you will hear both them. Albert Goodson and Billy Preston (organists) & Gwendolyn Lightner (pianist) *Billy was just a child at the time. This was the theme song of The Voices."
