"Big Oshun energy (Orisha of Yoruba)! And
shout out to the darker-skin & albino African girl representation. Hatred
of darker-skin tones, especially effects our girls/women, & such immorality
has no place in the African Diaspora & Motherland period! We were taught
colorism by Europeans & Arabs, we need to teach ourselves to shed that. Our
albino sistas & brothas are attacked, especially in some East African
nations, that evil has no place in our community. Thank you for this video & song, Beyonce"

I'm a pale Latina, all my community was darker than I was. I was picked on

"Hi a message for all who don't
understand why this video means so much to us if you aren't black, east Indian,
filipino, native american or a mixture of any of them.... than you have no idea
how cathartic this music video is for all of us. I for years slapped on the
sunscreen and avoiding the sun so I don't get darker trying bleaching creams a
few times in my life and correlating dark skin as not beautiful. I'm finally at
peace in my skin. FINALLY. And seeing all these comments from other races
especially the East Indian community cause they were also represented in this
video. I SEE YOU YOU ARE VALIDATED AND WE LOVE YOU. I am crying hard at this
monumental moment and its cathartic seeing so many people lives that have been
touched by Beyonce and this one song in particular in the comments. I am crying
I feel released.
Everyday of my life and majority of
brown skin girls lives whether its directly or indirectly how our skin is to
dark and lighter the better all over the media since old Hollywood to fashion and
entertainment across the world you can beauty standards involve light eyes and
light skin and before anyways thinks I'm coming after a certain group of people
or whatever I'm not. You are beautiful all of human kind is beautiful especially
the ladies of every race but the only difference is you have an abundant of
representation telling you that you're beautiful; Dior, Estee Lauder, Lancome,
Calvin Klein, Abercrombie and Fitch, Valentino, Versace, Armani, etc etc and
Hollywood, and entertainment around the world Japanese media, and bollywood who
choose many of the lightest skinned Indian people to be leads in the
movies. But brown skins/dark skins don't
have that representation a few tokens that spring up every now and then is not
equal representation. In many cultures, nationalities and ethnic groups dark
skin/brown skin usually meant one common unifyer it meant we were field
workers/slaves. We were not privileged enough to work indoors and remain light
skinned. Light skinned was also synonymous with wealth and with beauty for
centuries not just in the time of media. But Beyonce you are truly iconic and I
don't throw that word out alot cause Michael Jackson really set the bar on
iconic legends but Beyonce. You did it."

hair cause it was never like the other girls all these black women being proud
of their hair and there skin color really made me confident in my self so I say
thank you to all of them"
