Verses that follow this pattern such as "Our God is a mighty God", "Our God is a loving God", "Our God is a merciful God" could be added to this song. I don't know if the other verses that the group sang follow this pattern.

From a cultural standpoint, it's interesting (but also disheartening) to see that the women in this group either have their hair in braided extensions and/or weaves or straightened. The lead singer even has a blond streak in her extensions.
ReplyDeleteI consider this disheartening because I very much prefer natural hairstyles.
I hope that this doesn't mean that females in Sudan (now South Sudan?) consider extensions, weaves, or straightened hair the only hair styles that are fashionable/beautiful.
Think of the psycho-social and economic ramifications of that for Black young girls, Black teenage girls, and Black women in that nation. [Sigh].
