The line "weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning" are from the Old Testament (Psalm 30:5). The verse which begins "Amazing Grace" is from the religious song with that title. The verse which begins with "I came to Jesus" is from the religious song "I Heard The Voice Of Jesus Say".

I'm not sure if the Mississippi Mass choir was the first choir that combined those Bible verses with the "weeping my endure for the night" song lyrics.
