"To question rather she is or was Indian or Black is so stupid: when you are bi-racial, both are true at all times."

"They did the same thing with Obama for 8 years.. they used to say he wasn’t the first black president because he was half white.. republicans really do have weird old views on race that seem so odd to anyone who grew up after segregation and the one drop rule.. it’s like they think they get to decide who qualifies as black or white.. kind of gives up the game as far as “whiteness” being more of a political class of power than an actual race"

"KAMALA could be purple with yellow spots as far as i'm concerned if she still had her positive, sensible & achievable policies, delivered with dignity & authority & good manners & a sense of humour & joy in moving forward to even better times, bringing people together."

    1. Here's another comment from that same YouTube discussion thread for the video entitled "Trump FORCED To Watch Obama CRUSH HIM, Instantly SHORT CIRCUITS!" , published by Luke Beasley, Oct. 17, 2024 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqpp5ZZXu9o

"Being biracial, black and Indian, was a major part of her 2019 campaign; every news outlet (including Fox) made a point about her being the first black and South Asian woman to be nominated and later elected Vice President, and while she hasn't made a big deal about it in her 2024 campaign, every news outlet once again made it a point to reflect on her being the first multiracial Vice President, and potentially the first multiracial woman to be elected President. If any so-called political pundit somehow missed all of that, then they need to get out of politics and go back to school."

    2. If I correctly understand the positions of Black online commenters who identify as American Descendants Of Slaves (ADOS), they don't consider Kamala Harris and Barak Obama to be "real" Black Americans because they don't have any ancestors who were enslaved in the United States.

And If I correctly understand the positions of Black online commenters who identify as Foundational Black Americans, (FBA), they don't consider Kamala Harris and Barack American to be "real" Black Americans because they don't have any Black American ancestry. FBAs accept the fact that Barack Obama's father was a Black Kenyan, but some FBAs don't even believe that Kamala Harris' father is Black. These commenters point to the fact that he is Jamaican. However, they write that Kamala Harris's father's ancestry is mostly White.

My take on this is that that FBA position is a toxic, divide and conquer reverse "One Drop" definition of who is or isn't Black- i.e. "You're not Black if you have any ancestors who weren't Black."

    3. Some FBA and other Black people who indicate that Kamala Harris (and her father) aren't Black even though they "look Black" either may mean that they are no longer following the "One drop of Black blood makes a person Black" . And/or it may mean that those people aren't using visual clues to guess a person's racial identity.

I support dropping that One drop of Black blood rule since I believe people who are multiracial are all of their races/ethnicities. Also, I support dropping that visual clue guessing custom for identifying p4ople by rawce because it's not always accurate.

That said, it occurs to me that there are more Black Americans than White Americans and other non-Black Americans who indicate that Kamala Harris isn't Black. I think that is because those White Americans and the other non-Black Americans are using the same visual clues (particularly skin color and facial features) that have always been used in the United States to categorize people by race-even if some Black Americans don't fit those visual clues such as Black people who could/can "pass for White." In contrast, some FBA or Black people who appear to have views like FBAs insist in their comments that Kamala Harris isn't Black regardless of the way that she (and her father) look.
