INFORMATION ABOUT THE JAMAICAN BOBSLED TEAMS
From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamaica_national_bobsleigh_team
"The Jamaican national bobsleigh team represents Jamaica in international bobsledding competitions. The team first gained fame during their debut in the 1988 Winter Olympic Games in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where they were seen as underdogs in as much as they represented a tropical nation in a winter sport. The team returned to the Winter Olympics again in 1992, 1994, 1998, and 2002. The team failed to qualify for the 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics. Led by driver Winston Watts, Jamaica qualified for the 2014 Winter Olympics in the two-man coming at last place...

This [1988] team was the inspiration for a major motion picture, Cool Runnings. The characters in the film are fictional, although the original footage of the crash is used during the film. The film's depiction of the post-crash rescue was changed to show the bobsledders carrying the sled over the line on their shoulders for dramatic effect...

The team returned to the Olympics in the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France, but finished poorly.[2][3] They qualified again for the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway. There, the Jamaican four sled stunned many of their critics by finishing in 14th place, ahead of the United States, Russia, Australia and France."...

According to this page of quotes from the movie http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Cool_Runnings, the saying "cool runnings" is a blessing that means "peace be the journey." My sense is that this saying was made up for the movie. According to http://www.businessinsider.com/the-real-story-of-the-cool-runnings-bobsled-team-2014-2 "A popular quote from the movie — "Feel the Rhythm, feel the rhyme, get on up, it’s bobsled time!" — was also made up for the movie".

To The Right! To The Right!

To The Left! It’s Bobsled Time.

On This Freezing Night,
Watch Jamaica Slide By.

To The Right!
It’s Bobsled Time.

To The Left!

It’s Bobsled Time.
To The Right!

Fly Top Speed On This Ice Wall
Green, Black, And Yellow
So We Nahga Fall
So We Nahga Fall
So We Nahga Fall
No!

To The Left! To The Left!

Goin’ Fast,
Feelin’ Free,
Feel The Rhythm
Like The Rhythm Of The Sea.

Last Turn. Keep Ya Head Down.
I See The Finish Line.
Jamaica Rock The Whole Town!

Run The Track. Run The Track.
Run The Track. It’s Bobsled Time

Run The Track. Run The Track.
Run The Track. It’s Bobsled Time

Run The Track. Run The Track.
Run The Track. It’s Bobsled Time
It’s Bobsled Time
It’s Bobsled Time
