PANCOCOJAMS EDITORS NOTE
These examples are given under the contributors' sororities with the sororities given in alphabetical order. I don't know which sorority was the first to compose or perform these chants.

I have come across the same or very similar examples that were chanted by members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc or by members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Tik Tok, in particular, includes several video clips of "Nabisco's Got The Crackers") chanted by Deltas.]

As of this publishing date, i haven't found any examples of these chants that are attributed to  members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.

I have found one example of a very similar chant by a members of historically Black Greek letter fraternities except one example that was posted by a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. That example is given in the discussion thread for this post.

I have also collected an example of these chants that was chanted by members of a fraternity little sister group. That example is also given in the discussion thread for this post.

explanations:
-AKA- member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (The individual letters are usually pronounced separately, but letters are sometimes pronounced "AH-KAH" [Ahhka] as given above in this chant but  particularly in some dis [insult] chants by rival sororities.)
-"Skee Wee" - the AKAs' high pitched signature call

-Delta- a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

-Zeta- a member of Zeta Phi beta Sorority, Inc.

-a SGRho - a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. -Kappas - members of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. -Ques- members of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. -APhiA- members of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. -snip- As documented in this pancocojams post, some other examples of this chant include another fraternity Phi Beta Sigma (the Sigmas). However, I've never come across an example of this chant that includes Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc.(the Iotas).

These historically Black Greek letter organizations comprise the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) which is informally referred to as "The Divine Nine"). The Divine Nine is made up of five fraternities and four sororities.

This particular example of this chant doesn't include Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity (the Sigmas) and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. (the Sigmas), probably because there are fewer members of those fraternities on the particular university campus where this version is chanted. As of the date of this post's publication, I've found some examples of this chant that mention the Sigmas, but none that mention the Iotas.  My guess is that the Iotas aren't included in these chants because that fraternity has a smaller number of members than other Divine Nine fraternities and adding the name "Iota" would mess up the beat for this already "established "chant.

  1. Here's an example of a very similar chant that was posted online by a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. :

ONE AND ONE AND ONE MAKE THREE
"I was chattin' with my LB (Tail) a few minutes ago and he reminded me of this one...

    1 and 1 and 1 is 3
    You better watch your girl
    Bekause she's watching me,

    explanations:
    "LB" = line brother.

The "Tail" is the last person in the pledge "line" (group). Usually, the "tail" is the tallest person in a line.

  2. Here's a version of "One And One And One Makes Three" that was chanted by members of a fraternity's little sister group:

ONE AND ONE AND ONE MAKE THREE
One and one and one makes three.
    You better watch your man
cause your man is watchin me.

So if you came her with your man
    you better hold him tight
Cause you damn sure better believe
He’ll be leaving here with a Q Pearl tonight.

"Q-Pearls" is one name for the little sister group of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Another name is "Q-Essence". Members of fraternities' Little sisters groups must be attendees of undergraduate college/university who has a particular grade point average and meets other criteria.

This chant is also featured in a late 1990s Meharry College step show video that I had, (with the name "AKA" substituted for the name "Q Pearl) .

    2. To be more specific, that Q Pearl chant came from a woman attending a university in Pennsylvania who remembered it from 1991. At the time that she pledged Q Pearl she and the rest of her line were aware that historically Black Greek letter organizations banned little sister groups and other auxiliary organizations (in 1990).

  3. Here's an example of a girls' foot stomping cheer that includes the words "you better watch your man 'cause your man is watching me":
    SUFFOCATED LADY
Suffocated lady, Suffocated la-dy(this is said twice), then the first girl would sing
I'm a bad bad girl from a bad bad town, it take a thousand [n word] just to hold me down, if you don't like my apples don't you pick em (not them) off my tree cause I'm after you're lover and he's after me. (this is repeated until every girl in the circle gets her turn)

This example has "the n word" given as "n" with randomly typed symbols.

That Greek chat discussion thread was made up of young Black American women who are member of historically Black Greek letter organizations. In that discussion thread these women were sharing their memories of rhymes and cheers that they remembered from their childhood.

"Foot stomping cheers" are a sub-category of girls cheerleader cheers that have a distinctive text (word) structure and performance style. Foot stomping cheers were performed as part of informal play activities by (mostly) African American girls from the 1970s to around 2009.

"Suffocated" is a folk processed for of "sophisticated"
