From visionary filmmaker Spike Lee comes the incredible true story of an American hero. It’s the early 1970s, and Ron Stallworth (John David Washington) is the first African-American detective to serve in the Colorado Springs Police Department. Determined to make a name for himself, Stallworth bravely sets out on a dangerous mission: infiltrate and expose the Ku Klux Klan. The young detective soon recruits a more seasoned colleague, Flip Zimmerman (Adam Driver), into the undercover investigation of a lifetime. Together, they team up to take down the extremist hate group as the organization aims to sanitize its violent rhetoric to appeal to the mainstream. Produced by the team behind the Academy-Award® winning Get Out.

"No, we should not "get over the past". Wanna know why?

It has an impact on the present. And the future. There's no need to be bitter and hateful about it and take it out on other people's descendants, but to deny what happened in the past shaped the present as part of "getting over it" is just stupid."

"Dan Won, I'm not saying that we should ignore our pasts in fact its taught us quite a lot about humans and the mistakes we made. But we shouldn't cling on to it either, Americans shouldn't hate Russians because of the cold war, Jews shouldn't hate Germans because of the holocaust and black people shouldn't hate white people because of the slave trade. These are all things that modern people couldn't control and shouldn't be held accountable for, sorry if my message wasn't as clear as I intended it to be."

"The past gets recycled into the future, the Ouroborous, the snake eating it's own tail. Except nothing is ever truly created "new" in this cycle. It's all recycled, repetitious, archaic, same ol', same ol'. Clan, tribe, race wars: check. Male domination: check. Slavery/Human Trafficking: check. Rape, incest, torture, murder, human psychopathy: check. The only real change is the number of the population. As a whole, the human race literally can't escape it's past. At least not yet. #Agenda21 #Agenda2030 #Vision2050"

Police “accidentally” killing blacks and get away with murder, etc etc.. WE don’t clings on hating, you white cowards continues the hate, kill and even steal our creations of building America from the past-present and get NO CREDIT for it! White ppl like you WONT understand the struggle and pain we have to live for, too brainwashed."

"DJ BNEL why do we know who MLK is? Why do we know who Rosa Parks is? Why do we know who Frederick Douglas is? Why do we know who Harriet Tubman is? Why are people always taught slavery in every HS history class and taught about the economic growth that the cotton farming brought (not agreeing with slavery). The idea that blacks are not recognize for their contributions is completely false. Also police brutality happens in every community its a power hunger some of these people have."

"hi there majority white ppl are power hunger Bcus you know why? It’s white America. Sure MLK, Rosa Park and others get credits but most contributions that aren’t “well known” like MLK completely get silenced and buried like the black man that invented the chair, traffic lights, rock-n-roll music, etc etc so unfortunately white man ran with it and make tons of money. There’s no equality!"

Other groups such as the America First party used it as their theme. Thanks for the info. Maybe I'll go see the movie after all."

"CBGaming
And one more thing, a film that has the simple message of “the KKK is bad” isn’t propaganda, it’s just common sense. It makes you look like a sympathizer of racism if you actually think that a movie that portrays the KKK as the evil organization that it is is “propaganda”

So maybe don’t do that next time"

11. Sean Green
"@CBGaming I have to say this constantly to people but STUDY HISTORY. It amazes me how so many people have very little knowledge of history. Its like when Trump fans scream about how Democrats created the KKK while ignoring the fact that the Democratic Party at that time consisted of southern conservatives.. The same people who are in the republican party today due to the Southern Strategy, which is why the remaining KKK are all Republicans now. People seriously don't know shit about history."

"Thank you so very much for my first shout out EVER, Jody!!! Means a lot!!! Oh, and I am right there with you. I wanted Peele to direct this film, too. I, at first, thought Peele was directing and Lee was producing. I feel Lee is kinda "using" Peele for a comeback. This film woulda been a HECK of a follow-up to Get Out (2017). Definitely looking forward to this film, REGARDLESS!!! Again, thank you so much for the shout out. πŸ‘πŸ‘

"This is the Story:

He wasn't trying to get in the Klan as a black man, he was impersonating a white man to get intels from the Klan. So, the Klan though he was white. That's why he send the white man (his buddy) to go and meet the Klan.

It's not a serious movie on race.
It's more comedic type."

Get out was fictional but felt like it was a true story. This movie is based on a real life person. I hope we blow this movie up like we did Black Panther."
