http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_of_French_Guiana indicates that "Aléké is a style of drum-based music that arose in the 1950s.[citation needed] It is similar to salsa music and merengue.

My guess is that Aleke Roots Riddim is dancehall music that is based on "Aléké music. Hopefully, someone will correct my guess and add information about these music forms.

Here's a comment about this song in French (with Google Translate's English translation)
Maïra Fimiez, 2013
"Moni baté est une chanson qui dit je veux de l argent sont travailler elle bien cette chanson mais sa vé dire que les élève sont pas oublier de travailler à l école et c est pas bien norma"

Moni Baté is a song that says I want the money are working it well that song but its vee say that the student not forget to work with the school and c is not well norma

[My speculative interpretation of that English translation: "Moni Baté" is a song that says "I want the money and am willing to work for it. But the song also reminds students not to forget to study in school and a "C" grade -just getting passing grades- isn't enough.]

Please let me know if this is a correct English interpretation. Additions and corrections are welcome.
