Music by The In-Crowd. Track: Mango Walk.
"Boom ! Wagan? Memba a mi fi tell yu tings a crawb up you done know. Beat dem bad !"
-snip-
I agree that this “Beat dem bad” and the video is also excellent.

PARTIAL LYRICS*
Let’s go down mango walk
Free from all idle talk**
So let’s go down mango walk
The trees are ripe
And the meat is nice
-snip-
Transcription by Azizi Powell from the recordings. Additions and corrections are welcome.

*This is mostly an instrumental record. I'm referring to my attempt to suss out the words to this record as a "partial transcription" as I'm not including the "Whamp" (or something like it) sounds.
If "meat" is the correct transcription, it refers to the inside of the mango fruit.

**Thanks to anonymous October 15, 2015 for this corrected lyric.

ADDENDUM: INFORMATION ABOUT THE PHRASE "MANGO WALK"
"Mango Walk" is the title of an old Jamaican Mento song.* That song refers to a person stealing mango fruit from the trees in the mango walk (the mango orchard). As such, "Mango Walk" (and particularly this version of that well known Jamaican song) was a great pick for the soundtrack of Episode 1 of the very popular American television series "Breaking Bad".

This commenter who wrote on the discussion thread of a sound file of The In-Crowd's "Mango Walk" pin pointed when this song was used in that "Breaking Bad" episode:

Quinn Marnich, 2012
"Mr. White stealing school equipment to this song so that he can make Meth. Epic."

  1. Surely the 2nd line is 'free from all idle talk'

    1. Anonymous, now that you shared your transcription of that line, and I listened to the video again, I can hear it that way.

Those lyrics make much more sense than the lyrics I wrote which were "Trees are high like a top".

I'll change that line and credit you.

I'm interested in a full transcription of this song.

      Thanks again for your help!
